Eye popping!  One of my favorites, I once wrote to Mr Differing in England and when I got his reply he had brought it to Germany with him and then sent me a very nice signed photo of himself. A true gentleman.

Yeah, I know.  It's just what everybody calls it.

It's not even plural.  It's one crappy little tunnel that branches out at one end..  It is also getting smaller every year.  If you look at older pictures, you will notice that it used to be a lot taller.  The bottom has risen as it is being filled in with silt or whatever.

Kinda sad to compare older pictures with recent ones.

It is still plenty tall enough for a car.

If you watch "The Devil Bat", you will notice a big mound of tailings off to the left of the big single entrance.  Dwight Frye is chased over the rubble.  Those tailings aren't there anymore.  I suppose they might have been added back into the hole along with dirt washed in by rain.

The old 20's and 30's pictures of the "cave" look really high compared to pictures of the excavation today.
