Well, I sure hope they fix the color of the Creature's lips, chin and neck. So strange they've gone with this revisionist paint scheme here and on the premium format statue, especially considering they got the color right on the 8in Creature as well as the  12in CFTBL and Walks Among Us figures, and the assorted little big heads. Damn shame.

I also wonder why this looks to have been designed like the Premium Format figure, in that you seem to need to be somewhat above it looking down to get the best view. Perhaps it'll change.

I could see that for $30 or $40, but not much more then that.. it's not much better then the recent smaller creech diorama on clearance, and that at least had lights in it.

It looks like she's dead, and he's lamenting that... and I don't recall that at all in the movies.

I just don't see why it's so hard to pick an iconic scene from the movie, and do that rather them make crap up instead.

The Phantom Creep

I wish they would do that Chaney Sr. at his make up table that they talked about. I also agree that the choice of angle on this one is odd. His head looking up that way just doesn't look right. And what's with that neck color, it looks like a frog's underbelly.

It's probably in it's first stages and the camera flash could have washed some of the colors or details. I kind of dig it and anything sideshow will not be less than $100.00.  There were same criticism with teh premium format but once you get it in your hands, there was nothing but compliments so give this piece some time and a chance. I'm sure it will turn out nice. For some reason, there are a ton of people that is against sideshow, but I am a sideshow fan and I am glad they are keeping the Universal Monsters collectable scene alive.

This seems kind of uninspired, more like an obligatory Creature piece rather then something they were fired up to make.  I'd rather see a more unconventional protrayal of the Creature, like in the "and away we go" still that shows up in FM from time to time.  or better yet how about a big diorama of this...

I'm sure they'd have some takers on that one.

Oh, and give me a Julie Adams 1/6 scale to go with the Creature figure we already have.

I don't understand the disdain among some Monster Collectors for Sideshow either.  And its usually the guys who grew up during the 1960's monster craze that take issue with Sideshow.  Curiously enough, some of these same "monster kids" rank something like the Tomland Mummy (a figure I think is completely ridiculous) as  one of their most prized possessions.  Go figure.  Personally I am glad Sideshow is making items like this, and think this Creature is awesome.  Which is why  I shared it. Since the film itself is black and white, I don't understand the concern regarding the paint apps.  Personally I think it looks great.  Like an actual aquatic being and not a uni-color green rubber suit.

Now don't get me wrong.  I love Aurora, and they will always be top dog...because I had them growing up.  But it doesn't make me hate what Sideshow is doing.  It does seem to make others who grew up with Aurora take a "nothing else can compare" stance.  Which I don't understand at all.  As awesome as the Auroras are, and as classic as they are, there are things being released now that, well, blow them out of the water. If I am wrong about the topic of why there seems to be so much disdain for Sideshow...enlighten me. Just my 2 cents on this controversial subject. :-\

This seems kind of uninspired,

That would be my take based on the photos here.

Inspiration for the piece derived from a photographic reference.  Much the way the Dracula diorama is.
