I just watched this movie for the first time....and I am stunned!

I had completely forgotten about this film Charpie! I remember enjoying it as a kid.

WOW!!  I absolutely loved this movie! I can't believe I've never seen it before.  :)
llk- It came out in 1977, so I bet it was as shocking to kids as JAWS was.  Richard Harris puzzles me. I remember seeing" A Man Called Horse" when I was a kid, and I was certain that it was real! He looks so gritty and not at all like a "movie star".

So.....I guess the film was really good?
"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

mars- If you love each & every JAWS movie, (Including the one where Michael Caine romanced Mrs. Brody), and you don't question animal behavior....then you would like this movie- a lot!   :)
It had a distinct non-CGI 70s feel, and it had a mechanical killer whale, so I was enamored by it. I'm going to watch it again tonight with my husband. I know he's never seen it before- he was sheltered as a child- hahahaha!

A proper actor from the days when movie stars had a beer gut rather than a six pack! I remember feeling a little sick when Gene Hackman beats him up in 'Unforgiven', he plays a horrid character but i was like "hey, you can't treat Richard Harris that way!"  ;D

I can't recall too much about Orca other than I enjoyed it, so I'll have to revisit it. I have a friend who is mad about 'nature gone bad' movies, I bet he has a copy  ;)

I've never seen Unforgiven...hmmm- What have I been watching?? I guess I was wrapped up in made for SyFy channel movies for far too long!
Without spoiling it-  I will say that Orca is a cool revenge movie (a little far-fetched, but that's the stuff we monster lovers enjoy) and it moves along pretty well. The only semi-weak performance in the movie is Bo Derek, and I'm not being mean because I'm jealous- hahahaha! She kind of whispers out her lines.

Haunted hearse

I had completely forgotten Honey BooBoo's mother had a film career, prior to "Here comes Honey BooBoo".
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?

McDougals House of Horror

Bo Derek about to be eaten (before her fame in "10")

"Do you know what I've got in those crates?"

That ad was on the back of a lot of '70's comic books

Saw this in the theaters when it came out and LOVED it!! And I haven't seen it since............so thanks Char!! I'm one of those who loves "Nature Gone Mad" movies from the 70s!!
We're all here because we're not all there.

Bonomo- I remember seeing it somewhere, but that's cool that you remembered the comic posters! I wonder who the target audience was for the movie? It was pretty depressing at first, and was about as violent as JAWS- scene for scene. I guess I was 15 when it came out at the theater, but I was probably saving up to see the blockbusters that year!  :)
1977 had some big ol' movies at the theater! It was a great year!
Poor Bo Derek......that cast didn't help her! hahahaha!

Unknown Primate

Yeah - I remember ORCA!  I enjoyed it, too.  I think it's on Netflix or Hulu (or both).  Might have to watch it again - it's been years!

I might listen to "Macarthur Park" while I'm at it!
" Perhaps he dimly wonders why, there is no other such as I. "

When I was investigating the making of Orca, I read that a King Kong Vs. Orca movie was rumored! That would have been straaaange!

zombiehorror

Don't recall much about it but I know that I saw it in the theater....I was 5 years old at the time!
