Saw this at the drive-in when I was about 6 or 7 years old and loved it. I always felt sad for Orca and sympathized with him, and the Morricone score is beautiful indeed.

I really liked the music as well. I noticed that on my tv, the sound was a little off kilter. Sometimes the actors were whispering to the point where I would have the sound turned all the way up- and then the sound effects would suddenly be super loud! But the music was superb!

That ad was on the back of a lot of '70's comic books

I remember that as well.

It was on cable this afternoon. I caught a few minutes, but have never seen the whole movie.

I saw both "Orca" and "Grizzly" in theaters when they first came out. "Orca" used to get a lot of TV airings in the '80s & '90s. "Grizzly," not so much. A "Grizzly" sequel was made, but never released.

Wow, I bet George Clooney would be thrilled to see that GRIZZLY sequel released!

It almost did! Cannon Films bought it in 1987 (it was made in 1983), and would have completed and released it, if not for their own financial troubles starting in 1988. Today, only a workprint copy survives. I'm surprised someone like Syfy or The Asylum hasn't bought it and completed the missing effects footage with cheap CGI.

Has there ever been a script John Rhys-Davies said no to?!?! :o  (And unless I'm mistaken, that's the same painting of the GRIZZLY from the first film! )

C'mon, it's like the "Jaws" shark image. It's iconic!

I never actually saw GRIZZLY, but I did have the novel with that "iconic" image on it.   8)

We watched ORCA last night and really enjoyed it.  Hadn't seen it in years and it held up remarkably well

So did I! It eventually got eaten by mice, though.
