The Phantom Creep

That Frank in Athens has actually been there for at least 15 years. I believe it was even there on the business before the car dealer. I'm going to have to ask a friend about this, it seems he knew last we talked about it.

QuoteMakes sense that Frankenstein signage is at a car place- it was off an advertisement for batteries or shock absorbers or something similar carwise a couple of years ago. I tried to get something from a local suspension place that I knew had some display pieces (they reshocked my car one morning), but I failed.

Monster Bob this must be it - NAPA did "Shocktober" promos for about four years - The first year they did it I ended up scoring a six-foot banner, the radio ad script/promo pack which included this:

The Standup:

A Mobile

And the next two years a different Frankenstein, then "Count Shockula"

There's also a poster of the first Frank which I won't post
Last year they did some sort of Witch but I couldn't get a poster and this year nothing.
I like the idea of painting it right on the building though, and just leaving it there!
I have a couple leftover small paper items related to this if you want PM me

The Phantom Creep

Hey Packy thanks so much for posting that stuff!! The only year I saw any of this was the year of  Count Shockula which I loved. I still use my Shockula mouse pad here in the 'ole Monster Museum.

I have extras of the mouse pad and the huge vinyl banner if anyone is interested.

I would love to have one of those Frankenstein cardboard counter stand ups !!!

Wow Paul. You have to be the definitive Napa Shocktober collector. That's quite a collection. In fact, it's "shock-ing". You must have stock in Napa Auto Parts?

Don't they sell mufflers too? What? I can't hear you. Your all 'muffled' sounding.

Hah! That reminds me of Herman Munster's best joke ever as he was doing a stand-up comsdy act: "You know the muffler on your car? Now they've invented a device to keep the inside of your car quiet too...it fits right over HER MOUTH!"

This is the new inflatable Frankenstein. Unfortunately, the patch work I did on his neck was only good enough to allow him to hold air for about five minutes before he wilted. I finally gave up and sent him back. :(

The other Frankie was a premium offered by the Jack In The Box restaurant chain about the same time as Burger King had theirs. This guy came with his own torture chair as shown here:

Actually, Jack In The Box released two different series of Universal Monster toys and their second Frankie was a nifty little wind-up, also pictured above. The Jacks are harder to find than the BKs but they turn up on eBay from time to time, sometimes misidentified as the more familiar item.

Dracula has much better stances on this issues though.  He logically thinks things through.  I mean, his brain is at least normal.   ;)   :D
