Wow, what a turnaround! When this was first announced everybody hated it (especially the light-up eyes). What changed everyone's mind, I wonder?

Nope, still hate it.

10 years from now these will be selling for $900 and people will love them.

Remember, the CineArts busts ended up on clearance at Spencers.
I picked up several at $15 back in the day. Wish I still had them.

FIFTEEN BUCKS?  For that price I would have bought every Frank they had.

My Spencers sold out of Frank and the Phantom busts - very early on.

I guess I missed the first thread, but I don't understand why everyone hates this bust? The Karloff likeness is very good and the light up eyes pays tribute to a scene from the movie. The mini control panel is neat. I have no idea what the cost was to manufacture this bust, but I know I could only be a buyer at about one fourth the asking price. Obviously, that's never going to happen.

I won't say I hate it - but I just cannot make myself love it.

And I want to love every new Frankenstein product, I really do.

I would not buy this bust if it was selling for a tenth of the price.

I think this was the original thread:

Discussion continued in several threads.  I think this was the longest:

Yes, it is. If I had the room to display it, I'd get one. Same problem with the Frankenstein VFX bust; I just don't have the room for it (even if I wanted one, which, I honestly don't). When Factory's Wolf Man cane comes out, I'll probably have to hang it on the wall, as none of my shelves are big enough for it. That's why I primarily buy things like small prop replicas: rings, medallions, etc. In a two-bedroom apartment, display space is at a premium! Some of my recent 12" figure acquisitions are still waiting for me to figure out where I'm going to put them!

My collection has grown so much in the past few years that I have to stick with the DST 7"ers for now.

Agreed. Hate might be too strong a word. If I received this as a gift, I would display it and use the light-up eyes at night to torment my kids. But I wouldn't buy it for myself.

I guess the tormenting of kids is a noble enough goal (I work at a high school).

Dodging flung poo is a useful life-skill, Scatter. They should get on their knees (after first checking the floor in front of them) and thank you!
