I saw a marvelous biography on AMC yesterday about Lon Chaney,Sr.It was made in 2000 and covered his life and career.Very ineteresting program if any of you happen to catch it.Not sure when or if it will re-air, but you can check the AMC schedule.

I did watch last night. Very good doc. on his life.
"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

McDougals House of Horror

What I found most interesting about that documentary was the opinion by the old-timer that "London After Midnight" would likely disappoint most viewers if the film ever surfaces, that Chaney moved around in a very bizarre crouched-over fashion, and that the film just wasn't very good. I don't know about that, with that classic Chaney makeup -- I'd sure love the chance to see it and decide for myself some day.

"Do you know what I've got in those crates?"

Maybe he is confusing it with a Groucho Marx movie.

I did a listings search.  I did not find a future re-airing.

Nuts.

It was on Turner Classic Movies, not AMC.

Is this the one narrated by Kenneth Branagh? If so it is a fantastic documentary and can be found on the  TCM Archives- the Lon Chaney collection dvd set.

general gruesome

I watched the doc as well. I thought it was really good. I love it.

I prefer "bastage".

So NOW I have to get the same flicks I already have in yet ANOTHER presentation to get the documentary? I think not. TCM will rescue me sooner or later.

It also has one of Chaney's craziest film's, "The Unknown". If you love "The Black Cat" fot it's sheer outrageousness, you'll love this also, ya cheap bastard.

At least you learned how to spell your epithets. A small step, but likely as much as we could expect from you.  ;)

Basterd was a Tarentino reference.
