"Police Squad"....love this show!

Wow! I never knew the show was on dvd. Love the show, too.

Season 1 and Season 2 of "The Wild Wild West"...oh my gosh, this show was so awesome.

Season 2 features "The Night of the Raven," my favorite Miguelito Loveless episode and also the episode that got me watching the show in the first place.
Beautiful moving, shifting colors!

Neon, for me, it's NIGHT OF THE DIAMOND, Season 1, near the end.  Drinking liquid diamonds speeds up the villain to make him appear invisible for his criminal pursuits.   He should have moved to South Africa first, though.  "I need more diamonds!"

We haven't finished Season 2, but it's starting to get rather formulaic in the fight-routines.  It's interesting that the production company used the same core stunt-men so that choreographing fights were more clinical, less dangerous, time after time.  This appears to be done on the BATMAN series of the same time, too.

We've finished Season 3 of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE and moving into Season 4.  I think this is the last one with Barbara Bain and Martin Landau in it, and supposedly "the last good season" of that show.

NIGHT GALLERY continues as the other weekly installment.  TWILIGHT ZONE'S hour-long season (4?) didn't have as many episodes that grabbed my attention or fandom; NIGHT GALLERY's hour-longs may be suffering from this same thing.  I haven't been able to tell if the hour-long's suffer from "bloated writing" or if the ideas simply aren't as catchy as the first three seasons of T.Z.

Or was it that, after having years and years to develop 100 great tales for TZ, the show finally 'bonked into a wall' and just couldn't generate that many good ideas without many more years of compilations?

Neighbors snagged a copy of Z NATION SEASON 1 and I've never been able to finish an episode, so I've got some time to watch #1, 2 and maybe 3 to see if I 'get' it.  Or rather, 'get tolerance' for it.

This seems to be an example of "Campiness - Threat or Menace?" and offers counterpoints to WALKING DEAD themes.  The snippets of Z NATION episodes I've seen, however, remind me more about the oft-told tales of drinking games for the BOB NEWHART SHOW.  "Take a shot every time someone says Bob."  Supposedly, that made some difference.

Yeah, I just couldn't get into that show.

Have you figured out why?

"Campiness" obviously requires a certain mood of acceptance, and perhaps patience.  My levels might have been violated due to lack of accurate expectations, and perhaps a rewatching can address that.

"Lack of likable characters" might be one issue for me, too - it's tough to cheer for The Jerk, but of course that IS part of the Campiness Effect.

Or in this case, "Effort".

I don't think "camp" has anything to do with it, I can do campy.  I even like some of the actors in it (or at least their work in other projects) but I just can't stand anything about it...except for some of the effects and gore but it's just not worth watching just for that; I can watch something with blood-gore and good effects that I actually enjoy instead of spending time on this.

Walking Dead- season II
Great season! It's amazing when you realize how many great characters have been killed off.

ChristineBCW

...and so many characters left to go!

After seeing how they could 'kill off' Glenn, then deflect the following week's outrage with a tale of the distant past (Morgan & Friend), the following week's outcries were considerably toned down.  The producers tested the waters and had to conclude, "We can kill off anyone and get away with it!"

So... is there a poll before this next season starts (Sunday, Feb 14th - Valentine's Day - how sweet!) about which of the recurring characters will be killed first?

Is there a poll for sacred-cow cast - those that are considered untouchable/unkillable?

If there's a poll for who gets it first, is this like pool, where you have to call the pocket - er, week?

I just watched the "Diamond" episode.  It's awesome!!  And the bad guy, he is a thoroughly pleasant jerkface scumbag evil person.

VERY SURPRISING to watch this and see how similar the "man speeded up" scenes are to depictions of the "Flash" or "Quicksilver" characters in modern superhero movies ("Days of Future Past," etc.).  Everything freezes, including falling objects, as the character walks casually around the room doing things...and when we return to the "normal speed" view, we see the chaos depicted with an inexplicable rapidity, as it would be if you couldn't see what the fast person had been doing in the previous 1/100th of a second.

"The Wild Wild West" was just so daring and ahead of its time.

I started noticing some of the sets, though, certain house interiors that keep showing up redressed, repainted, cobwebbed, and so on.  Oh, well.  Ya gotta save money somehow.
