Monsters For Sale

Man, I'd like to find one of those at a yard sale for $5.00.

The one before it (eBay Item No. 352106630544), went for over $10,000 and the buyer still had to pay $37.00 shipping.

Yes, Virginia there ARE some dedicated Batman fans out there.

Amazing! What's up with the high priced shipping?

Looks like there has been a find on these.

Both were sold by isoldit.az0170 in Glendale, Arizona.

I figure someone found a case (full?) of the unopened 1966 toys and gave them to an agent to list and sell on eBay for them.

It's gonna be interesting to see if any more are listed in the near future.

I'm with you - why such high shipping for items inside the country?

Did I do the math right on this? (I don't have any experience with commissions)

(0.33*500)+(0.28*1000)+(0.23*5288) = $1,661 in commission? Not a bad gig...  I'm assuming the owner pays the eBay fees too.

Plus PayPal fees - and a $10,000 item probably catches the eye of the IRS and whatever state's tax collector.

After seeing what the 1st one brought, I would have listed the 2nd one myself with a reserve.

(These have to be a "find".  No dirt, scratches or dinged corners in over 50 years.  Makes me wonder how many total were found - and at what cost.)

It was $6,288 x 23% = $1,446.

Ah ok! Thanks Mike! I wasn't sure if the tiers stacked on top of each other or if it was just whichever tier the final sale landed in.  I considered that too, but assumed it would be the scenario that made the broker the most money.

I found that confusing, too.

The first sale didn't go through and it was relisted. The description said buyer didn't have deliverable address.

I didn't catch that.

A buyer with 120719 feedbacks gave a bum shipping address?

Buyer's remorse - or irate spouse.
