I would much rather they do a Phantom bank than a crappy generic Dracula. Their best work, by far, has been on their Phantom pieces.

$14.99-$19.99 is the target I have heard.

Now that Super7 is working with Funko, they've increased their production numbers and decreased prices. Their Alien 1979 line went down in cost and are about $13/figure. My hope is that their further offerings will remain in the $13 ballpark. Cheaper, and I'm all in, more expensive and I'm going to be very selective.

Anything higher than $15 apiece and I'll have to skip the retro 3.75" UniMonsters line. Really, I wish they were doing a modern line instead of retro, as modern tooling would really allow for a ton of detailing and articulation on new figures. I wonder if they'll reverse-engineer the molds from existing Remco figures, or start from scratch? Or, if they were able to acquire the original molds?

They'd also have to acquire all the actor licenses (except Bela)

Looking over the Mr. Hyde DST  why do you think the figure of Boris has black hair and the picture on the back of the card he has white hair?  This may have been covered before but I might have missed it.

Maybe they can argue that the original sculpts were indistinct enough that they only need the Universal license. If not, maybe they'll work out individual licenses, like DST did.

Actually, the original Remco Frankenstein, Phantom, and Mummy 4" figures had pretty good actor likenesses, IMO.

There shouldn't be any problems with Frankenstein and the Mummy, since those are Karloff characters. And, of course, no likeness issues with the Creature, either. That leaves Dracula, the Phantom, and the Wolf Man. I thought they were good sculpts, too, for their time. So, we'll see what they present at Toy Fair in February.

Although Karloff is hardly the inspiration for that Frankenstein.  ;)

Dark Knight 1985

Hey the Select Son of Frankenstein is indeed Karloff and its official I was told by DST online and another good source here.. i talked to Jean St Jean and he said Diamond told him to sculpt Karloff from the movie and he showedmevthr exact photos he used as refferences, he also used sone brief images from the 31' Frankenstein film as well.. select got thier Karloff likeness rights thru Universal who had the license to his likeness for The Monster and Mummy.. They had oy since 2010 when the first Select Mummy was released as back then they told me they had his official rights,. in begin when dr Mego did the Glen Strange retro 8" and Kharis Mummy at tha time DST only had Chaneys rights but when they Told Dr Mego to chsnge Khsris over to Imhotep which was Universal only licensed Imhotep at the time and DST got Karloffs rights then since they changed it and then got approval on the Select Mummy And Monster for Boris Karloff also it says Boris Karloffs name on both Monster figure packaging so right there sincr it refers to him as the character its obvious its officially Karloff pieces.

There is no doubt that The DST Son of Frankenstein is an official Karloff product. The problem is that the sculpt is bad enough for all of us to cast doubts. Compare the Face of the Sideshow SoF Monster, then look at DST's ...not even close. Diamond has had a rough time capturing Karloff on vinyl right from the start. Here's a hint, Ray Santoleri is currently looking for sculpting jobs. Look up his number (or PM me direct). No need to carry on with half-assed sculpts.

Yeah.  I saw it on the clearance rack at a new TRU and considered picking one up to take out of the package.  Then I looked at it long and hard and saw how it was nothing like Karloff and said, "Nah... I'll stick with the Select version I have in the package.  Don't need a repeat of this one."  I was really hoping the Creature would have been left.  Alas...
