About 25-30 years ago, Chesty was the feature attraction at the Zanzibar Tavern on Yonge Street. By way of explanation for recoiling slightly at my touch, Chesty told me that my hands were cold.

;D

Yowza!!! Hep. Was Morgan nice or loquacious? I have heard from others, she is to her fans.

She was very pleasant. I think I was just walking in from outside and she actually invited me to come up to the stage after finishing her set with the words "You look like a big strong man. Do you want to touch?" Or something like that. Like I say, it was about 25 years ago.

Here she was in her younger days in the 1960's:

Impressive one handed box opening.
Sadly, Mars lost his right arm due to a vicious machete attack. He's very sensitive about it.

That too. He is one of New York's most respected left-handed et players.

Zanzibar (Quart beers), or the Coronet then Peter Dunn's Vinyl museum and the Big Slice
then the 506 home. My typical 1980's Friday night!

Ahhhhhh, yes, Peter Dunn's Vinyl Museum!

The Yonge Street location near the Zanzibar Tavern was the original one. By the nineties though casual music fans were ditching their vinyl records in droves as CDs had taken hold of the market. So many (barely) used LPs and new old stock records were being offered to Peter Dunn at a song that he opened a third (or even fourth) location in a former supermarket on Lakeshore Boulevard West. As a stereo buff and thus record aficionado this was the one I liked to visit because of the incredible inventory of records in stock.

I also really liked Lindy's Steak and Chicken Restaurant with the yellow and red sign two doors to the left of the Coronet Theatre in this picture:

Very good steak at an excellent price!

I remember walking by it many times but sadly I never went in. Did it compare favorably with the Tulip?
