Always a sucker for Godzilla covers. This one from 1975. Never saw it on the newsstand as a. 10 year old, but never too late to enjoy. Nice article by Don Glut about The Creature From the Black Lagoon that I read with my morning coffee.

Fantastic magazine and great cover.

My mom picked that one up at a garage sale in the early 80's. I had never seen it before either and read it many times. Twenty years later, I got the rest of the series and wasn't disappointed them either. They all had really nice covers. If I recall correctly, that cover was a scoop on FM as they hadn't featured Godzilla on a cover before.

Correct.  Monsters of the Movies had this cover in 1975, FM followed in a month or two with their issue 114, I believe by Ken Kelly. Then a few years later with # 135.  I like the covers of a few G-Fan magazines, I once owned a few of the paintings.

Evidently Famous Monsters 114 was a huge sales hit which left James Warren and Forrest Ackerman kicking themselves for not running Godzilla covers earlier.

TMT had already featured Godzi on their cover several times (6 total) by the time this issue came out.

The BIG G was a fave of The Monster Times guys. They even endorsed his run for president!  :D

The Monster Times is one of my favorite monster mags (even if it is a tabloid). I looked forward to getting the latest issue when I bought my new comics in the '70s, and I tacked many a TMT centerfold poster to my bedroom walls back in the day. It's one of the titles I made a point to get the whole run of including the specials.
ALWAYS MONSTERING...

The Monster Times was the most informative monster "magazine" of them all.

Too bad that it could not have been a daily paper that was always on ones porch by 5 a.m. ;D
