BRICK

I'm still amazed at the price of the Tomland Dracula! Obviously, the bidder has money to burn and the figure is definitely super-scarce; but for 13 grand I would much rather get a prop from an actual movie or a life-sized figure or that classic Cadillac I always wanted!
When times are dark, don't consider art to be merely a distraction; rather, think of it as a lifeline-  Neil Gaiman paraphrase.

That's what I keep coming back to... so much other goodies to be had; monsters, tiki mugs, guitars, hot rod projects, a life-sized Creature.
(Then there's the adult stuff, like student loans and rent.)  ::)
Stay sick. Turn blue. Drop dead.

It's a huge amount of money for sure but after seeing the Palitoy 30 back Boba Fett sell in the UK recently for over 18K UK pounds, nothing really surprises me when these super rare items come up. This may well be the only that comes to market and for a super fan who's trying to complete a focus or just get hold of this piece they may well be prepared to go all out.

I wish them all the best with it (as long as their family aren'y going without), and am sure that anyone willing to spend what it takes to get it will enjoy it for a very long time. Not something I could even dream of affording but each to their own I say.

I would just like to see the look of the person who visits his toy room. He takes them over and shows them his little Tomland vampire, and says, "This is my most valuable piece. I paid $13,000 for it." We here know differently, but odds are no one will believe him, LOL.

DD for me. And hey, it even looks like the guy;)

Aesthetically that's the one I prefer too. But I think the destruction factor for the Distinctive Dummies figures has been negligible.

Nix to the first two; I'm not exactly a Hollywood buff. But the classic Cadillac car, well now you're talking!

The buyer better keep it in a locked cabinet if he's going to show it off to friends. Otherwise one of his acquaintances may very well innocently rip the package open to get a better look at the figure!

Da suspense is killin' me!

I wonder how Ares is sleeping this week?

(I'd be a nervous wreck until the money actually showed up in my bank account.)

Pretty much.

First two days of auction when things were crazy, was getting tons of messages, it go to 5k on 2nd day.. I slept about 2-3 hours those days.  Since then I've had regular sleep.. but definitely refreshing regularly!

That actually almost happened to Bigbud once. He was showing one of his prize M.I.B. G.I. Joes(?) to another collector(!) when he caught the fellow about to slice the packaging open with his thumbnail because the fellow wanted a "better look"!
