After many years of trying, I finally scored my holy grail toy - the Marx Frankenstein robot.   See the ebay listing below.

Bought it from a new ebay seller who I communicated back and forth with quite a bit.  She was very nice and I feel I got this guy for a very good price.  Unfortunately she/someone in her home is/was a smoker but the odor isn't horrid.  Also unfortunately I cannot get him to work at all.  As you can see the battery cover is missing the buttons piece so I'm not sure how it should appear underneath.  If anyone can tell me if the battery controller looks right (aside from the plastic buttons piece missing) let me know.  I would also be interested in paying someone to tune him up to get him working again.  Even if he never works, I think his condition is very good and I'm happy to finally own him.

Congrats man.  I think he looks great!  Hope you get him working, if not, he still looks great!

Monster Bob

That is the correct controller. It is unique to this toy and Mr. Mercury.

Congratulations Jeff, I'm sure he'll love his new home.

This past Saturday I hit a yard sale in Atlanta and found all this!

Then I hit a second place and TRADED for all this!

Clay-Sayre - fantastic finds!
The best (in terms of classic toys) yard sale I ever hit was maybe 12 years ago in my home town. We got there ni the afternon, and I was able to score some 1960's games and toys, including a box of Major Matt Mason figures and accessories. Who knows what I would have found if we had gotten there early. There have been a few decent finds since then, but nothing ever came close to that particular yard sale.

That's the thing about yard sales that I really can appreciate, you just never know what you will find. 1960s board games and, a box of Major Matt Mason toys sounds like an awesome find.

I think of yard sales and swap meets like ocean-fishing.  You never know what is lurking at the bottom of the next box you search through.

I gave up on yard sales years ago here in eastern TN. The only place anything good turns up at around here is the rare convention/toy show, or very rarely at an antique mall. This is the worst part of the country for monster collectibles. If not for the internet, especially eBay, my collection would be about 1/4 what it is now, and a lot of that would be left from when I was a little monsterkid.
ALWAYS MONSTERING...

Yard sales are terrible in So. Cal. too. Second hand clothes and broken electronics are all I find.

I was cruising Craigslist for cool stuff when I saw this pic.

Yep, four Aurora Monster models. I got all four.

Can you tell which one is my favorite?
