Thiptho lapth,

Radioactive Rod Whitenack

I believe the guy at Wonderfest was charging something like $40 for them. As cool as the machine was, I thought that was pretty high, so I didn't buy one.

How big was the machine? - (How big square was the base?)

Radioactive Rod Whitenack

I'd just be guessing at the size. It was table top size. I did take a couple of pictures of it.

Just got one of these babies off ebay. The kit was built - not quite a gluebomb but it'll take some work restoring, especially the glue on the windows. The box is in good condition, it included the instructions, and even an entry for the Aurora "idea contest". I had read about the contest in Tom Graham's book but had never seen, let alone owned the entry slip until now.

Stinkin' cool!

Picked these up at a car show recently. $30 for the pair. They are both marked 1963. Unfortunately I don't know much about models, so I took a chance. How did I do?

What should I do with them now? The paint and the glue-job are fair. Looks like the Phantom was painted with Testor's paints. What would you do if you were me? Should I leave them painted the way they are? or try to strip them or disassemble and re-glue them or what?

Thanks !!

That would indeed be an excellent price for two original Aurora buid-ups.

Those are poor paint jobs even by kid standards. If you can do a better job, by all means reassemble and repaint them.

:)
Collecting! It's what I do!

Thanks, that's exactly what I was thinking.  Any suggestions, or can you point me to a page that can detail the proper process for restoration?
Thanks again!
