As I recall John Kricfalusi of Ren and Stimpy infamy worked on the 80s Beany and Cecil show. John K is a huge Bob Clampett fan and Beany and Cecil is one of his favorites.

That's great BigBud!  Congrats, and nice restore job!

As was mentioned earlier, I should have taken "before" pics or the Cecils and box. Anymore, if I see a cool toy in less than perfect shape, or not working properly, I give serious consideration to fixing it up. Sure saves money, and is very interesting to do. Having been pretty big into comics for many years, restoration and repair of paper items  has been an interest that I need to delve alittle deeper into. Still amazed with the results of wetting and ironing the cardboard of Cecil's box.

BigBud - I'm curious. The Cecil "Pins" are arranged on a triangular area of the box. Was that area supposed to be cut out so that it lays flat on the ground? If so, yours was a very lucky find indeed.

Just got back from spending a few days with my family in the Asheville, NC area and hit up a TON of antique shops while we were there. Came across this piece and quickly added it to my collection! It is a vintage Halloween devil noise maker made in Germany back in the early 1930's. I haven't been able to dig up too much information on it yet though, but I do know that it is a paper mache piece with a wooden mouth piece and measures about 10 inches. It's in really nice condition, and was sold not only as a Halloween novelty, but also as a Christmas one in certain parts of Europe as a Krampus themed party favor. It is a VERY cool piece and one of my new favorites in my collection!

Do you like monsters? They're my only weakness...

Well, after years of searching I finally got one of these babies...

Actually, this one specifically. I don't know why it's taken me, well, however many years this thing's been out, to get one, but it's finally mine! I found it on my doorstep today, so I'll unbox it and examine it tonight after work. Good day!

Bugs Bunny is my dream. Wile E. Coyote is my reality.

Glad you finally got what you were looking for!

I keep mine on a high shelf, with one of those scented, flameless candles under his chin and a little forward.

The flickering yellow light playing across his face gives him a very nice look.

This one is not a monster. It's the Yellow Kid, who was the first successful comic character. The Yellow Kid first appeared in the 1890's, and was very popular into the early 1900's, and quickly became a popular advertising character. This mask is made of papier mache, and dates to the late 1890's or early 1900's. It was a parade mask, and the photo does not reveal it's huge size. It is 20" tall, 11" deep, and 22" ear to ear.  I've always been a fan of the Yellow Kid, but don't collect Yellow Kid items. However my interest in masks, mask history, and the fact that this one is over 100 years old and represents the absolute dawn of what we know now as "pop culture"  made it irresistible.  Plus...  it's scary as hell!!!

I really like the Yeti.  The was he is standing, he looks like it is bring-your-brass-monkey-inside-tonight weather.

The Yellow Kid mask and story is really cool.  Glad it has found a good home.

Great scores, but it's the graphics on the Godzilla Game that are just spectacular.

Oh man! I've been envying your buying spree since I've been all tapped out lately. The Mummy's Chariot is a tough find and one of the few original Aurora monster kits I don't have.

And I agree with Monsterphile about the box art of the Godzilla game which is one of the most highly prized board games of them all! What are the contents like?

???
