I'm not sure why, but that was always my favorite trading card line. Love the AIP monsters!

Hep....that's just wrong....

No way was i going to let it go to waste!

It was really crumbly so there wasn't as much gum remaining after thirty seconds or so. The slight bitterness of the taste of Topps gum was accentuated but it was still quite palatable overall.

;)
Collecting! It's what I do!

hep i tryed some gum that was about 15 years old by Topps and it also turned to dust. Mine didn't really get too gummy but was kinda thick chuncky sauce. The taste was also more bitter and chalky.
It's all about the Horror.

I have a pack of '68 and '75 baseball. No way I'd eat that crap it wasn't so hot when it was fresh!

Ya it was a experience but not nearly as bad as you think it might have been.

Totally awesome cards!
"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

ilikemonsters

What year did this card line come out?

Hepcat

The Monster Laffs set was issued in 1966. It may have been sold only in vending machines. It was based on the Monster Midgees card set that Topps had issued three years before in 1963.

ilikemonsters

I know I collected similar monster cards, but those were in the mid to late 70's.
They had the "you'll die laughing" quotes on the backs w/ the Jack Davis art.

jimm

These don't seem to be a particularly rare issue, just a really cool mix of oddball monsters. I don't do sets of anything anymore, just nice to have a representative pile of the sets I like. I want to get some of the early Jack Davis ones.

ilikemonsters

I LOVE, love, love the Jack Davis colored ones I have i think about 10 different cards of that series.
