Therin of Andor

My apologies if someone from here was pursuing these, but...

Chicago Tribune, Feb 9, 1969, comics p7 by Therin of Andor, on Flickr

a USA newspaper weekend comics insert from 1969 turned up on eBay last week. I'm so thrilled to win it last night because it has two different coloured ads for the Hasbro "Kooky Spookys", luminous rubbery finger puppets from my childhood!

Bigger versions will be posted when they arrive.

CHAOS! I had gotten to the point that the clutter was in my way, so much of my stuff was sequestered in an storage unit. Well, due to economic pressure I've had to relinquish the unit. Everything had to come back home, into my small work area ("studette"). I couldn't stack all the boxes so I had to populate every shelf with STUFF. Here's a couple of pics of the CHAOS. A few things I didn't even remember that I had...

All that stuff looks better on your shelf than in the storage unit anyway!

Here are a few of my finds from the week.
Just picked this bigfoot jerky display up today! It had two sticks left inside, so i asked the cashier if I bought them both could I have the display? he gave me a funny look and said "Um, sure?"

here it is with the box out, i think its Rad!

picked up all these for .10 cents a piece at the thrift connection!
FREAKIES!!!

I had the freakies a kid but lost them, been wanting them so bad but couldnt pull the trigger at the prices they demand. patience pays off. now if i can find the two im missing and the magnets, oh and the boats. got the cars.
then these were also .10 cents a piece. they are called Mixed up Zoo animals. or MUZO's, i know i had 1 or 2 floating around in my bottomless toybox as a kid.
chicow, ostriphant , and catlizard? dont remember the names. there are 12 known to exist in the series.

oh and the Hank Snow record they are on was one of the 30+ records I bought this week also.

Dr.Terror

I don't usually share finds etc..but it's been a  fun 10 days.
I found a mask holy grail of sorts , a dead mint old store stock 81 Don Post Phantom.  This is only the second one I've ever seen for sale.  The other was when Danny sold his.  Whats so special about this mask is it's the only "Calender" mask re-issued as a wearable mask.  A wearable production Cal mask is something I've dreamed of for quite some time.   All the Cal and Vers B masks were reissued in 99, but they weren't wearable.    I also grabbed off Ebay this cool inexpensive Kong/Gorilla jiggler I had not seen before.   Also my GI Joe club 2012 membership fgure arrived.   25th anniversary style Footloose!

Morning, noon, or night, Anytime . . . . the count may strike. If you're caught you have to linger, Cause Dracula may bite your finger!

I've been meaning to take group shots by year, just been waiting for a few figures to be released to fill the holes.

Good stuff! It's always great to find something you had as a kid. The Freakies were after my time but I can see that they are super cool.

Wow. Those look like wonderfully cheesy versions of Bob Massey art. Maybe they ARE Bob Massey art (can't tell from "this far away").

I think you're right Hepcat. I've kind of enjoyed surrounding myself with them.
