Monolith

Unknown Primate

My in-laws came to visit a couple of weeks ago and spent the night with me and the missus.  The next morning, my father-in-law walked over to the convenience store located by the entrance to our driveway.  He brought back some coffee & donuts AND this empty box!  He said it screamed my name when he saw it!

" Perhaps he dimly wonders why, there is no other such as I. "

Monolith

Wow! That's a cool box UP. I never saw that before.

Love that! I WOULD'VE grabbed that too!

Hit a small toy convention on Satr. and came away with afew items. The 1958 Monogram  B-58 kit is one I have wanted for a long time. The seller couldn't guarantee it was complete so I got it cheap......got home and inventoried it---all there! Got several odd playset figures, about 14 "You'll Die Laughing" cards with great Jack Davis art, and some Mr. Foney's Funnies cards. Nothing great, but the trip wasn't a waste either........Bud

AHI Creature

I finally have a pro-quality film scanner, and I am going through old negs and slides, to scan whatever is interesting.  My weekly find is this photo I believe I took in 1977 at age 12 on the floor in my basement:

You can see all of my original AHI Bend 'ems, which I still have but would never pose them like that now, also my Mego mummy and Urko.  The only one missing today is the Dr Zaius bend n flex, which I recall shooting through and through with a Daisy 880 Powerline pellet gun, then burning it to a blob of molten plastic with lighter fluid.  I did not like the snooty attitude and orange hair of the POTA orangutans, nor did I like the figures.  I related more to the working class, brutish gorillas, like Urko.

Murder By Death

Love the 70's pic! very cool collection you had. Looks like they're doing a zombie walk.

And the Mego Mummy? one wiiiild and crazy guy! love the czech brothers pose on him!

Ha HA!!! Good eye.  That is right around the time of that skit and I was very into Steve Martin, so that very well may have been the inspiration for the pose....

I might need one of these.  Is it available nationwide?  Being a vegetarian, I never shop for beef jerky.

That's so cute!  I wish I had photos like that from my childhood.  Seeing that POTA bendie reminds me that I had Urko.  I forgot about him until now.  I wonder if he's still lurking around in a box somewhere.

Now that I look at him again, the Scare Cycle Frank looks nothing like Lugosi.  He's pure Sheriff Lobo.
THAT'S RIGHT!!
Looks exactly like Chet Atkins. Good eye Ray,
Also that body in the box is identical to Herman. Doesn't that Herman head look familiar to anyone? I seem to recall a Herman doll from the 60's? Ring a bell?
