OMG, I'm so excited!!! On our trip to the PumpkinTrain today (please see General Discussion), we were discussing the rash of yard sales in Burbank this weekend. Kelly informed us that this weekend, anyone in Burbank could have a yard sale without a permit. It's probably different where you live, but here, you need to have a permit. The newest member of our extended family, MedeaZorba (Angie Olson), kept us in stitches with tales of her toy-obsessed father (Richard Olson) and his yard sale strategies. Sadly, we came to the conclusion that, especially here in Los Angeles, we will never find anything cool at a yard sale.

And then...

Not five hours later, as we approached Burbank from the North, Angie got a text sent by a mutual friend of ours trying to get in touch with me to report that he found a Frankenstein lamp and Dracula statue at a yard sale not one mile from my house. Now, see, I'm a member of the Universal Monster Army, and I know if there's a "Frankenstein lamp," it's probably made of plaster and dates back to the '70s. So we drove right over there with the family still stuffed in the car, and lo and behold, we found these:






After successfully wrestling them away from Angie, we got them in the car, we got them home, and soon they will live forever in Dr. Shocker's House of Horror.

Awesome scores, Dan. I wish I had half the luck at yard sales, thrift stores, etc.. that you guys seem to. I never find anything. I literally went to over 30 yard sales a couple Saturdays ago and didn't see even one thing remotely interesting, never mind awesome stuff like those lamps.
