me want Frankenstuff!
I saw them at Toys R Us years ago and always regretted not buying one. I got this one for just over $23.00 shipped, which is probably around what they retailed for back in the day. He still glows in the dark just fine too!

Checked out 2 local Dollar Tree stores for Halloween stuff only to find most of it had already been taken down and Christmas stuff out already! However, i did score this really cool dracula/vampire bust and these two cool alien figures!
Crazy am I? We'll see if I'm crazy or not!

twilitezoner

Very cool. What would you say the bust was made of?

RedKing

I think it's made of plaster-it's pretty heavy-definitely alot heavier than the usual resin matrial dollar store stuff is made of.

It looked heavy but you never know.

I've had no luck with Goodwill either.......seems to always be picked over in my opinion. Went into one several months ago.......looked around......and spotted a 60's Remco 727 battery op plane hanging from the ceiling. Those planes are huge . One employee referred me to another employee and on-and-on till I get this guy with a why-are-you-bothering-me attitude. "That plane? That's not for sale" he says. Without a word I walked away......which I could see didn't phase him. I think the "contributions" to Goodwill should be sold as an intended donation.......but that's just me.... that guy has probably taken the plane home by now.....Buddy

Just as an FYI, here are two facts about Goodwill: first, they try to hire mentally slower individuals; the guy you spoke to may have been one of these. Or normal but just rude. Second, some Goodwills have pickers in the back, specially trained (more or less) to spot likely higher dollar items that will never go out on the floor. That's where a lot of the stuff on goodwill.com's auction site comes from.

Went to Chiller Theatre in NJ this past weekend, and I really didn't spend that much in the dealer's room as I usually do.  Part of that has to do with the fact I was only there for one day (instead of all three) and I wanted to make sure I got the autographs and pictures of people like Elvira and Caroll Spinney (Muppeteer famous for Big Bird & Oscar The Grouch).  This is what I did pick up, the EMCE/Fearwerx Dracula and Mummy Megos.

I already have the Frankenstein Monster and Wolf Man from last year, now I got the whole series (unless they announce an Invisible Man and Creature From The Black Lagoon).

I folded Dracula's cape over his arms because I didn't like the way it hung in my display case.  Gives him a little look of Gene Colon's Dracula from Marvel Comic's Tomb of Dracula.  I have to get some fabric glue to hold down the lapels of his evening coat, they keep wanting to unfold and pop out.

The hands and face are a little green than I would like, I think it should have been a little lighter and grayer.  Still, great detail on the face and hands.

Here is some monster stuff I picked up this month for our Halloween Display.

The poor Ahi Drac doesn't have his cape or jacket so he stole the EMCE one.

Lottsa cool stuff gang.

I finally got around to taking pics of my Marx Monsters that I have acquired in the last month or so.

Sorry about the crappy pics. $99 camera.

STILL waiting for the neon green Mummy from Mexico.

Good info Vandor! Thanks! I'll give their site a look. No, the guy wasn't slow, I observed him prior to talking with him. Rude.....yea, maybe.   Buddy

Hey Lester! Great finds! Tell me......I believe there are original AND repro Marx monsters in the orange color.........is it easy to tell the 2 apart?   Buddy

Wicked Lester

Buddy
Since I have not owned an original Marx Monster as an adult I did not know that there were Repro's in the same orange color. So after reading your question I looked at the bottom of the bases. My Teal Creech has the indented circle with Louis Marx & Co. Inc at the top of the circle and also in the middle stamped 1963 in Roman numerals. It appears I have been duped(?) and ALL the orange ones have a raised blank bar where the date stamp should be. I am not sure if the orange came out later or if what I bought are all repro's. I looked at my other non monster Marx figures and even tho different colors they all have date stamps. Perhaps one of the Marx guys here can give a better answer. I DO know that I personally would pay MORE for a close to NM/NM repro in a cool vile green/purple/yellow than an original.
BTW for what it's worth ,including shipping for ALL 7 of my orange ones I paid $117 delivered which comes to about $16.66 each. Did I get hosed? Depends how you look at it. Saved me time on getting them since 6 came from the same guy.

I'll have to defer to another member of the UMA......I'm still trying to figure it all out. But as I said, I have heard that the originals and repros have both been cast in orange. Just not sure how to tell them apart. Any markings on the base that were "blocked" out would be suspect I would think.   Buddy
