Alexa has been very busy this morning.  Great music to read the newspaper to. Trying to drown out all the current carnage. What's happening to our country?

Mord!! I own all these albums. Now inspired to break 'em out and listen.

Starting with The New York Dolls self titled.

They're from Georgia. I am listening to "Rocket to Russia" by the Ramones, though.

But they made their mark in NY (CBGB's, etc.)

Listening to NYD - NYD. Thanks for the nudge!

Good for you! That's some hard rockin'. Nothing against the B-52s, I just don't get any N.Y. vibes from them. They're not rude enough (no offense, Mars).

After NYD, I listened to David J. (as Buster P.) "Hot, Hot, Hot".  ;D

I remember that being used as a cruise ship ad. David Jo's 1st album is not bad, either. Syl Sylvain is on it, too.

It's a fun song and video (w/ Bill Murray in there). About as much of BP as I ever listened to, though.

He did a great theme to "Autofocus" (excellent film about the decline and murder of Bob "Hogan" Crane). If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. It details the strange friendship between Crane (Greg Kinnear) and video tech, John Carpenter (Willem Dafoe). Needless to say, THIS John Carpenter did not go on to direct "Halloween".

My favorite era of Kiss. I know things were falling apart, but as a kid I had no idea. As a 4 and 5 yr old, I thought they were as awesome as ever!!
