Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols. -  Just got this on vinyl. It's been a while since I listened to this. I was afraid that it would no longer move me. No chance! This is one of the fiercest,  purest rock albums I've ever heard. The production makes the guitars sound like well-sharpened knives. Fantastic!

One of my favorite studio albums by a one-shot band. Warner Bros./EMI/Virgin.
I was fortunate to see the Sex Pistols in 2008 with all original members. Great show. They even performed-Satellite.

This covers their entire career, from 1964 to 1984.

Wonder how they managed that, since they recorded for several different labels? I guess they made a deal!  :)

I bought all those deluxe editions of their '60s albums, that include all the "singles only" tracks and other rarities.

Same here. Some of the bonus tracks are even better than some of the regular songs. I really love those deluxe mono  cds.  Their early songs sounded even more powerful in mono. As for the compilation,  it's on British label, "Santuary". They did take out licenses from the different labels. It includes hits, classic album cuts, incredible b-sides...everything you could ask for. It plays like a 2 hr. Kinks jukebox.

Love the mono tracks! I bought their first 4 LPs in mono (later issues), back before CDs. I have The Beatles Mono Box, too. Bunch of other albums with the stereo and mono versions. Just listened to one by The Hollies, yesterday, as a matter of fact.

That makes sense. They seem to do that more over there than in the US.

Impressive! Sadly, I never saw them live. I did see P.I.L. on their 2nd tour (the "Second Edition/Metal Can" tour). They were incredible ( Lydon, Wobble, Levine, and Atkins ).

What's a "one-shot band"?

A band that only recorded one studio album.

Sex Pistols only had one album?

Yep, but it was a doozy (as the kids say). There were other albums released (a soundtrack , a reunion live l.p. etc), but only one studio album in 1977.

Which usually leads to a second album.
Not when your high profile bassist murders his girlfriend , then takes his own life. It was a truly hectic time.
