Does anyone know if someone has made any reproduction shoes that fit these?  Or do any of you know any shoes from any other dolls that might fit these?

Thanks

Toy Ranch

I don't believe there are any exact repros of them, but there are some doll shoes out there that fit them and look good on them.  They are generic replacement shoes for feet that size (it's a common doll foot size) and can be found pretty readily at a doll shop or doll show.  They are probably available on eBay too, but it'd be best to have the doll with you to match the shoes and make sure they fit.

Hi!
My name is Laura.  I'm new here.  I came across your website while looking for information about Ideal's Mini monsters on the internet.  This topic was the one on the internet.  I adore the Mini Monsters and was looking for shoes also.  I found these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/3-Pair-RED-size-10-Vinyl-Doll-shoes-for-1950s-dolls_W0QQitemZ280190954036QQcmdZViewItemQQptZDolls?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

I bought a set of them.  I haven't gotten them yet.  When I get them I'd like to post you and let you know how they fit.

Enjoy your evening!

I believe those are the ones I've seen that fit pretty well.

This is an original.

The original is great.  I'll bet originals are hard to find.  My Woolfy is wearing a pair of shoes that are the wrong size.  I'll probably put the new shoes on him.  His outfit is mom-made.  I'm getting another Woolfy that has clothes that are not any good.  Since I can sew I'm making him clothes.  Unfortunately for my monsters all the clothes I make look a bit girly.  But at least they don't have to  be naked while I look for original clothes.

I bet finding original clothes for these that aren't already on a doll is a tough row to hoe.

I think you're right.  Especially since the monsters are 40+ years old.  In the doll clubs I belong to, people make them for their dolls or buy them.

My first Vampy didn't have her original clothes, and I traded some other dolls to a lady who made me a dress for her.  She did a great job, but I was glad when I got an original.  We couldn't even find good pics of the dress then.

I'd imagine someone who makes good replacement clothes at a reasonable rate could stay fairly busy for a while with this group. ;)

OMG!
This darn thing logged me out while I was posting!

Anyway, you guys are all so nice.  I have to not talk so girly like I do on my doll boards!  So if a few girly words come up, try not to be too harsh on me!

I'm glad you like my monters (that's how my kids said that when they were little!)  I don't know how I came across them.  My first 3 were about $60 a piece.  I got them off of ebay.  When I get my newest one I will have two Woolfys, Franky, and a Dracky.  Woolfy is the one on his way.  I got him for $30.  I don't mind the naked and well loved dolls.  I can make the clothes for them.  My Franky has clothes that I made.

I didn't really buy them.  It was the little girl inside of me that bought them.  < OK, I'm weird!>  If I would have known back then that they were available, they would have been on the top of my Christmas list!  When I get some extra time I'll make a few extra outfits.  The problem now is getting the right fabric.  I can only buy Haloween fabric off of ebay.  It's already out of the fabric stores.  I found some really cute fabric that has flames on them that look sort of like the flames you see on Hot Wheels.  I think I'll buy some for my new Woolfy.  I'm pretty limited to the patterns I use to make the clothes.  Almost all doll patterns are for girl dolls.  I could make the set I have into long sleeves and long pant legs, but that's probably about it.  I found a sleeper pattern with a hood that would fit, but that might not be what anybody is looking for.

Toy Ranch, you are so right about displaying and listing dolls.  They have to be in the right category and the pictures have to be stunning.  I'll have to figure out how to list these kinds of dolls.  Having a monster standing in front of a bunch of flowers would not necessarily attract the buyers that would be interested!

I'm looking for a Vampy if anybody has one for sale or trade.

Sorry for babbling on!
Hauntingly,
Laura
