More HASBRO Prototypes 12" scale

Thanks for the kind words in the Wolfman thread....here are a few more protoypes and a Bride mockup package. I realize most collectors shun the Hasbro line but I love the charm of them. Some great sculpts and figures in that short lived line....I got some of these online and some from Toy Shop magazine (remember that..prior to online auctions, etc.) After all we got a Son of Dracula and Mummys Tomb..too cool. How many have pulled the bandages off the Invisible man to reveal a cool "invisible" Rains sculpt beneath. I cant figure why the Creech in this line didnt get more love either....oh well...............Larry

These are kind of cool! They have a certain charm about them.  I see some of thsese on Ebay..Are the ones in the tubes a seperate line than the ones similar in boxes?

That makes two of us! Seeing these is a real treat, Larry, thanks. I well remember the days of Toy Shop.

That the Bride's packaging form prototype is made from a Mattel overrun is great. Love to see a display with the Bride proto to the left, the packaging proto, the released package, and a loose released bride all in a row.

Do those Invisible Men have differing head bandages?

Ah, the Jean St Jean Creature. I tried for one of those several times back then, they were always just a touch out of my price range. Really cool to see it again. Did you used to (or perhaps do you still) have two different test shots of this one? Seems like there was a photo long ago...

I have them all & think they're really cool.   And, they're sturdy & fun to play with!  Even Frank's HUGE monster hands are awesome!  Most of mine are loose, but I have a few still sealed.

I own, and like, most of them. The Lon Chaney Jr. Mummy figure is my absolute favorite. The Creature, in my opinion, has the same problem that the Sideshow 12 in Wolf Man has. He's too skinny! His legs are especially like toothpicks. The paint job kind of ruined the Frankenstein Monster for me because it looked like he was wearing woman's makeup. Even the Karloff Mummy looked like he was hit with some blush and highlights.

Hi!  New to this forum.  Slightly off the subject but does anyone remember a series of action figures based on the Universal Monsters from the late 70's/early 80's?  They were about the size of Star Wars or 80's GI Joe figures, and they made The Mummy, Wolf Man, Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, Creature otBL, Bride of Frank and possibly The Invisible Man.  I remember buying these at K-mart with my allowance and I think they were in the 2-3 dollar range.  Please, someone out there my age (38) tell me they remember these and I'm not just hallucinating?

Those would be Remco mini monsters and they were available in glow in the dark as well; Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, Creature, Wolf Man and Phantom of the Opera.

I do have two other Creature protos, one unpainted. The other was the actual one used in Toy Fair way back when Hasbro was promoting the line and its a diferent paintjob. I tried to score Frank and the Phantom, but they never showed up, least while I was looking......Larry

I have all of these MIP but since they are (or at least were) relatively cheap to pick up I got a loose Frankenstein, Bride and Creature for the girls to play with; I think Frankenstein and Bride cost $20 for the pair and the Creature was $20, that was about 4 years ago!
