Eddie Murphy as a Vampire is almost as bad as PeeWee Herman as a Vampire.
They are both a pain in the neck ;D

No way that analogy works Doc. Murphy continued the great comic tradition of Richard Pryor in the mid 80's with his stand up and some classic comedies (Beverly Hills Cop, Trading Places). Herman was a kid's comedy that didn't pioneer as deeply in that genre as Murphy did in his.

Overall, I too was surprised that Murphy carried off the ceturies old Caribbean vampire so well. Also, being directed by Wes Craven, there are plenty of nods to our beloved monsters.
"For one who has lived but a single lifetime, you are a wise man ...Van Helsing."
"I shall awaken memories of love and crime and death..."

The Creeper

Children of the Full Moon (Hammer House of Horror- it's a werewolf story.)
Carpathian Eagle (Hammer House of Horror-about a woman who kills men like some other woman in history, and has Pierce Brosnan in it.)

Long live the UMA!

I dont consider a bunch of foul-mouth language comedy, might as well say Andrew"Dice"Clay continued in the tradition of Pryor.
As for the movies, Eddie's movies dont compare to Pryor's movies, Pryor was alot more funnier.
I like comedies, but not Eddie or Richard, more like Grant,Gable, A&C, Laurel & Hardy,Hope, etc.

That's cool about different flavors of comedy, and I agree that Pryor was the man. But again, you can't put Dice Clay in the same areana as Pryor and Murphy. Dice used profanity as his only comedic venue which IMO was zero. Never was a fan of him.

What Pryor did was dig deep in his life for a joke, make the audience feel uncomfortable with it and eventually bring to light some truth through pain, loss or just life. Dice Clay made nursey rhymes with profanity. Lame.

Always good debating with my friend Doc!

Shaun of the Dead

This is truly a great movie.  I think 20 years from now we will have this movie ranked with A&C Meet Frankenstein and Young Frankenstein for it's solidly brilliant parody.

I watched Attack of the 50 Foot Woman last night.

I've attempted to watch this one several times on cable. Didn't matter where the movie was at when I caught it I only lasted maybe 20 mins. I know a lot of people really like this one but for me it was just dumb and boring.

Wicked Lester

Werewolf Woman. Mid 70s Italian total Euro trash. A woman who was raped and seriously traumatized at age 13 moves to the country with her father. She learns of a distant relative(who happens to look exactly like her) that was burned to death for being a werewolf. Soon she starts having delusions and psychotic episodes of lycanthropy tho she never really changes. The body count starts up and grows. Mild gore/full frontals/and a rape scene make this a very adults only film. My score a 4 out of 10.
