It would be the 76 version of King Kong. I like it in a goofy sort of way, but it always leaves me wanting to see the original.

Agreed.........my affection for the 76 incarnation is purely nostalgic, having seen it first-run at the movies. Viewing it now, the cheesiness puts Wisconsin to shame, but it always conjures up enough good memories to compensate. Yet, like you, it always leaves me wanting to pop in the original. Perhaps to cleanse the palate?? LOL!
