Two supernatural thrillers from 1994. One movie about the inner city and underclass, the other film about Manhattan and the bourgeoisie. Interesting juxtaposition.

Monsters For Sale

Quatermass & the Pit, 1967 - An impossibly advanced stone age era artifact is unearthed while digging an extension to the London underground.

James Donald, Andrew Keir, Barbara Shelley and Julian Glover.

Big screen remake of the original 1958 live broadcast of the 3rd Quatermass BBC TV serial.  Re-titled Five Million Years To Earth for the U.S. market.

Beautifully paced movie with an engrossingly gradual reveal of the buried object and its importance to the surrounding community's history and folklore.

Watched this one because it is my all-time favorite Hammer sci-fi offering and in remembrance of Barbara Shelley, whom we lost this year.
