Monsters For Sale

#17985
The Man From Planet X, 1951 - A newly discovered planet is hurtling toward the foggy moors of a remote Scottish island where a strange visitor has already landed a bizarre craft.

Robert Clarke, Margaret Field, Raymond Bond, William Schallert and Roy Engel.

Reportedly budgeted for $38,000 and shot for $41,000 in just six days, this little film delivers in atmosphere and mood in a big way.

Fun, every time I see it.

One of a very few films that actually scared me the first time I saw it.  Where we lived, the houses were far apart and the nights were dark and quiet.  I (9 or 10) was left alone when my parents went to the drug store one night.

I was lying on the rug just under our TV screen, looking up at the flickering blueish light.  Margaret field was peering in the spaceship window, when the music suddenly blared and the alien's face filled the screen.  I quickly reached over and changed the channel, immediately regretted my action, and spun the dial all the way around back to where TMFPX was showing, only to find that he was no longer visible.

My parents came back before long, and I did not get to see the rest of the movie.  (They were never going to watch something like that.)  When I heard them drive up our gravel driveway, I returned the TV to whatever was on when they went out and never mentioned what I had seen.

Dude, you have to see "Crawl". It's the best alligator movie you'll ever see.

How was the movie?

It was just ok for me; worth a cheap rental or watching once it's included on rotation on Netflix or Amazon Prime.
