The Shallows - If you like shark films (or watching  Blake Lively in a skimpy bikini for 90 minutes), go see this film. Thrilling to the very end.  Think Jaws meets Open Water.

Adamson's versions of Dracula and the Frankenstein Monster weren't the only pair of big boobs in that flick.

District 9 (2009)

The Crazies (2010)

Oh yeah, watched VICE television documentary on John Carpenter last night too. Really good imo.

The Boogie Man Will Get You (1942)

A refreshing horror comedy from Karloff's run at Columbia. The presence of Peter Lorre makes the film, sort of an Arsenic and Old Lace-distant cousin, even more fun. Check it out on the recently released Boris Karloff collection DVD set with his other Columbia films.

Island of Lost Souls (1932) on Svengoolie.

Invaders From Mars (1953).

I didn't see this movie until this year, but boy, has it become one of my new favorites. Such an eerie film. All the great performances, the incredible cinematograpy, and who can ignore the incredible MU-TANTs and the leader of the Martians? This is an instant classic and I cannot wait to watch it again.
