The Shuttered Room (1967)

This one should have been good. With Carol Lynley, Oliver Reed, and Gig Young, you certainly have the acting talent for a good movie. Too much time is spent dealing with the silly hooligans on "Dunwich Island" (yeah, it's based on Lovecraft/Derleth work). Reed is wasted as head hooligan who get's beat up by Gig Young no less  ::) (Ollie would have mopped the floor with Young in a bar fight). The musical score doesn't fit the subject matter, and fails to instill dread in the viewer. This film is mediocre. The only saving grace is getting to look at Carol Lynley through the entire film (she was ultra-hot back in those days).

The Deathhead Virgin (1974)

Caught this one on You Tube. Man, there's a lot of obscure flicks on there these days. Anywho, it ain't bad if you like Philippino horror movies. It has Vic Diaz (natch) and some other people I'd never heard of. It involves treasure hunters being murdered by The Deathhead Virgin, an undead who appears as a comely nude island girl wearing a mask. Underneath her mask is a skeleton head. It moves a little slow, but the beautiful scenery and pretty girls make it palatable.

Just checked out Diane McBain on IMDB. She did a truckload of TV back in the day. I recognized her face from shows like The Wild, Wild West and Batman but not her name. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0564223/ She is nice eye-candy for TDV.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

I didn't dislike it, but I felt like it held back way more than a rated-R movie needed to.

Very true. I thought that "Abraham Lincoln Vs. Zombies" was a lot more fun.

Watched both King Kong's...the newest PJ version, and then the classic, the next night.
I love both of them, but am liking the newer one even more. Love the insect pit scene!!
