Plot: IMDB
Armed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, cat burglar Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Phantom's Review: In all the years that i have collected comics ( almost 50) I have never really paid much attention to "Ant-Man'. I knew he was around,  had seen him in crossovers with comics i did collect, but he just never did much for me, so I went into the movie with just a basic knowledge of him and with just this, I have to say I enjoyed the movie much. I liked how it was very firmly centered in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but had a very different tone and feel than say 'The Avengers' or 'Captain America'. The plot is a bit similar to the first 'Iron Man' but not enough to distract from the story. Good special FX, good acting and plenty of humor. I had a great time . Can't wait for his next appearance.

Let Sleeping Corpses Lie (1974) (aka The Living Dead At The Manchester Morgue, aka Don't Open The Window)

Good Eurohorror zombie flick directed by Jorge Grau. Ultrasonic radiation from an experimental pest killing machine raises the dead and gives them the ability to raise more through the blood of the living. It has that grungy macabre nasty ambience of Naschy, Ossorio, Fulci, and similarly effective Eurohorror with some Romeroesque moments thrown in for good measure. The flop-happy female streaker in the opening is a fun touch.

Phantom Stranger

'The Thing That Wouldn't Die'(1958)
=Gordon Hawthorne
Plot: IMDB
A psychically gifted young woman discovers a centuries-old crate buried on her aunt's ranch. Opening it, her family discovers the living head of Gideon Drew, a 16th century devil worshiper who was beheaded by Sir Francis Drake.

Phantom's Review:
Hysterically bad supernatural thriller. Produced by Universal in the late '50's, this film is a far cry from their classic films from the '30's and '40's. What could have been a decent plot is ruined by shoddy, low budget FX,and amateurish acting. The one thing the film has  going for it is, it's absolutely hysterical. It;s not intentional, but it is at least entertaining. Great for a Bad Movie Night or as a companion piece to "The Brain That Wouldn't Die".

Blood of the Virgins (1968)...Argentinian vampiro flick, filmed partially in Buenos Aires.........delivers blood and babes and not a heckuva lot of plot, but succeeds in being mildly entertaining.  It ain't no classic!  The cinematic equivalent of a McDonalds cheeseburger.  Night monster!  Blood sucker!  Yeah, whatever.  I'll have one more, please.
Beautiful moving, shifting colors!
