What's not to love?  ;)

Christopher Lee is just so damn cool, but he might have a HARD time standing up after this shot.

The Crater Lake Monster (1977)

Cheezy fun. Some of the stop-motion is actually pretty good.

ALWAYS MONSTERING...

Howler

"That ain't tactics honey. That's just the beast in me."

Die Monster Die

Dr. Phibes Rises Again

Phibes is gotta be the most far-out character in classic horror---and I love it!!

Mord

"House on Haunted Hill" - One of my childhood faves that still holds up well. Vincent Price is always a pleasure to watch. Also watched "Die, Monster, Die", coincidentally.

Dr Wolfenstein

Scream Blacula Scream(1973)-Is it just me or are 70's film vampires a lot scarier than todays film vampires?

That's awesome! DMD great film. Karloff prob the greatest with Price close second IMO.

BTW: Why does Peter Cushing have like a 15 second cameo in Phibes Rises Again? What couldn't they give him a more substantial part? They did same thing in Scream and Scream Again. Anyone have any insight into this? Studios would do that to Lugosi back in the day too----I'm thinking Night Monster and Body Snatcher. Seems like waste of superior talent.

Mord

I don't know about Cushing in "Phibes", but that always happened to Lugosi. A lot of "Lugosi" films turned out to be no more than glorified cameos. I would have to disagree about "The Bodysnatcher". Logosi's role, though small, was one of Bela's best performances. The scene where Boris strangles Bela is one of their very best together, chilling.

Fair point about Lugosi in Bodysnathcher.

Just watched "War of the Worlds" (1953). One of my favorite films from the era. The movie was a head of its time---one of the first disastertainment movies. That template now the norm in a lot of sci-fi horror and action movies.

Good pt Doc. "30 Days of Night" one the few modern films w/scary vampires. Don't get me wrong, I like just about every vampire movie, but I prefer the old school vamps.

Mord

Watched the DVD documentaries from "The Mummy", "The Creature", "Frankenstein", & the one on Chaney Jr. from the anniversary edition Wolfman. These are so well done & entertaining, I just kept reaching for another. I liked the little toy section at the end of the Creature one.
