general gruesome

Hellraiser - Inferno [2000] - not to good   -  although the storyline was decent, I felt the ending was to drawn out and boring - lots of crappy Special FX - the cenobites weren't in it much, seemed like a totally different film with the cenobites sorta thrown in at the last minute - one cenobite was cool, he looked like chatterer from the original Hellraiser, but crawled because it had no legs - the cenobites would have looked cooler if they had decent special FX, the chatterer like creature looked ok

Dylan Dog: Dead of Night; watched this a few weeks ago, was alright, nothing special...if you're bored check it out!

Oasis of the Zombies; so much Euro fromage!  How do they squeeze all of this into one picture?!  Confusing "plot" points, multiple characters entering/leaving narrative, horrible day for night footage, dried tissue paper zombie make up.....loved it!!

Favorite line(s):  "Let's get some bottles and make maltove cocktails!  You know like in school!"?!  Where the hell did that guy go to school Guerrilla Warfare University?!  At the end a girl was attacked by zombies and for some reason they must have shot the close up on a sound stage as she was laying on a sheet with just a few bits of sand scattered on it to represent the desert that the entire rest of the film was shot in?!  Was the desert closed the day they went to film this shot!?

Grapes of Death; this is usually lumped in the zombie genre but it is pretty much a French version of The Crazies, Jean Rollin must not have had a whole lot to do with the writing of this one since it actually made sense from start to finish!  Well worth a watch.

Watched the original "House on Haunted Hill" last night for the first time on HULU.  Price was cool as always and had a very cool twist at the end, but ended kind of short.  Wife even enjoyed it.

general gruesome

Jaws on blu-ray [1975] - I finally got it in and I have to say that the quality is awesome! - It looks so great! - I also watched the documentary, The Shark Is Still Working, which was great as well - I watched most of the deleted scenes/outtakes, The making of, cast interviews, The restoration of Jaws, etc [other cool stuff on the film] There are lots of stuff to watch when you get the film on blu-ray - A great watch and well-worth buying it! Jaws is one of my favorite films of all-time

btw, anyone who got the blu-ray, did you guys get the regular blu-ray with the sleeve, or did you get the one that looks like a book? I got the regular one with the sleeve, although I might still get the one that looks like a book - It looks awesome - I'm the strange one who buys many different copies of films
