I Honestly Think The Vhs Cut Version is Better Than The Mini Series. One of My Favorite Movies....My VHS Copy is a Big Box, I was very lucky to find it. I also have the mini series on dvd.
I had always wanted to know the best 'Salem's Lot' one to get, as I favor more towards the VHS copy, anyone know if it's the DVD or VHS copy that deletes the opening and closing scenes in Guatemala? anyone know which one to get?

Phantom Stranger

"Fright Night" (2011)
                  -Colin Farrell Anton Yelchin

Plot: IMDB
A remake of the 1985 original, teenager Charley Brewster (Yelchin) guesses that his new neighbor Jerry Dandrige (Farrell) is a vampire responsible for a string of recent deaths. When no one he knows believes him, he enlists Peter Vincent (Tennant), a self proclaimed vampire killer and Las Vegas magician, to help him take down Jerry.

Phantom's Review: First, let me say, I'm a huge fan of the original. I saw it in the theaters back in the '80's and thought it was one of the most entertaining and original takes on the vampire concept. Full of interesting and likeable characters, fine FX and a great story.
Which brings me to the remake. If your a fan of the original...SKIP THIS WORTHLESS PIECE OF crap!
All the characters have been "re-imagined" and are now all thoroughly unlikeable. "Charlie" is now a self absorbed little crap. "Evil" Ed is just an obnoxious lout and worst of all is the "Peter Vincent" character, who is now just a foul mouthed and totally unlikeable figure.
Like so many remakes, this one doesn't hold a candle to the original. What a waste of time..

It's The VHS Copy That Deletes The Guatemala Scenes, I would Honestly just get the DVD because the VHS Copy may be hard to find or pricey. It also may just be my copy that looks like that, it is really old and worn out.The color is faded and old looking, and i like that look. Even, If You Do Get The VHS Copy it may not be like that.
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

Rich

Listen to them. Children of the Night. What music they make!

zombiehorror

Monster Brawl~Don't go into this expecting to much!  It really could have used some kind of story element (more like Mortal Kombat) but as it is it's pretty much like watching WWE, although there is a little background given for each monster.  I thought the funniest line of the film was the, "Frankenstein's monster" line.  Probably better for a, "Get together and watch with friends while you get drunk around Halloween" type of film.

Memphremagog

Doctor Who: The Ice Warriors(1967)
Thriller: Masquerade(1961)
The Dark Knight Rises(2012)
DARK SHADOWS:

David Collins: "Dead people dont just get up and walk around.."

Sarah Collins: "Sometimes they do."

Sublime. Simply sublime.
