The Satanic Rites of Dracula. I liked it. It doesn't deserve the bad rap it often gets.

Totally agree.

Curse Of Frankenstein (1957)

This one put Hammer on the map. Excellent flick which established Peter Cushing's Baron Frankenstein as one of the most popular characters in horror film history. It flipped the Universal idea of which one was really the monster. Cushing is superb and Hazel Court is hawt. It spawned six sequels which featured Cushing in five. Ralph Bates was alright in Horror Of Frankenstein, but he was no Peter Cushing.

I plan to watch all of the Hammer Frankenstein movies in order. Some pretty sweet monster viewing there.

Revenge Of Frankenstein (1958)

Peter Cushing is quite awesome in this sequel to Curse Of Frankenstein. Francis Matthews and Michael Gwynn turn in good performances also. And we have a Michael Ripper sighting as a cowardly grave robber! Love that guy. The movie would be near perfect if the creature (Michael Gwynn) were a bit more of a monster, though he does turn into a misshapen frothing cannibal, he still looks more human than monster. Still, Baron Frankenstein is the real monster in these flicks, and there has never been better. This may be my favorite Hammer movie. It's at least in the top three.

The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari (1920) on Penny Dreadful's Shilling Shockers

The imagery is twisted and compelling...an acid trip without the acid. Penny and the gang inject their madcap fun into the mix.  cl:)

"That's either a very ugly woman or a very pretty monster." - Lou Costello

Mord

"Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed" - Cushing's most menacing performance as the good doctor. I love the scene where the garden is flooded & the body starts to surface.
