Still watchin' the new One Step Beyond set...

This morning I watched the 1986 version of "Invaders From Mars". Getting to see Louise Fletcher gobbled up by a Martian is worth the price of admission alone ;)

Where apathy is master, all men are slaves.

Moonshadow

An American Werewolf in London

I rate this flick as about a B-. The transformation was innovative for its time, but like Rick Baker I would have preferred a bipedal werewolf. Also, I never felt David Naughton  was very convincing in the lead.

The Creeper

Long live the UMA!

#1941
- House of Frankenstein

- House of Dracula

One of my favorite double features, although I prefer HOD over HOF. HOD had a better Dracula story, Carradine played the role as a suave, sinister Dracula instead of being Karloff's lackey in HOF. Karloff was the best part of HOF, but it seems Universal started to figure out how to utilize the 3 monsters in HOD and then was perfected in A&C Meet Frank. I love the beginning of HOD when Carradine just shows up in a creepy opening as does Talbot. I also like the scene when Carradine is seducing the assistant while she is playing the piano.
"For one who has lived but a single lifetime, you are a wise man ...Van Helsing."
"I shall awaken memories of love and crime and death..."

Night of the Demon, a near perfect horror film IMO.
"Well friends, that's all there is to life: just a little laugh, a little tear." - Prof. Echo (Lon Chaney, Sr.)

Watched 20 Million Miles To Earth with my 14 month old daughter while the wife was out with the 5 year old.  Note to self:  The Ymir's shreiking vocalizations were absolute catnip for my daughter.  She was jumping up and down on the sofa with GLEE.  (Don't tell my wife) <G>

Wicked Lester

YMIR,20 Million Miles. GREAT fun 50s monster flick!

Wicked Lester

Sean, looks like your little daughter and I were on the same wave length. One of my all time fave creatures. I bet by the time she is 3 with good upbringing from Pops she can do a killer Frankie walk. ededed

The Creeper

Hocus Pocus
The Land That Time Forgot
Night of the Demons 2
Long live the UMA!

She enjoyed Mutiny on the Bounty before passing out tonight...  Boy, that Charles Laughton was NOT a handsome man.  Honestly, if he'd had just a LITTLE bedhead and the director maybe slapped him in the right eye just before 'lights' and 'camera'--------he really didn't need makeup for Quasimodo.

I brought my 5 year old up the right way, too.  I think she was 2 and we were sitting in the dark watching King Kong Lives, eating fried flounder when my wife comes home from PTA and is just mortified. <G>.  My kids have good taste, what can I say?
