- Dracula Has Risen From the Grave

This was the Hammer film that I saw most often on Saturday afternoons as a kid.
"For one who has lived but a single lifetime, you are a wise man ...Van Helsing."
"I shall awaken memories of love and crime and death..."

The Creeper

Long live the UMA!

This morning I watched the MST3K version of "12 to the Moon". This evening I'm watching "Pee Wee's Big Adventure", which technically isn't a genre film, but does contain cameos by Godzilla and King Ghidorah ;)

- Horror of Dracula

Haven't seen this one in awhile, almost forgot how good it really is.

BTW, last week was Modern horror, this week is Hammer horror, next week is Universal classics the week after is 70's double features and Halloween week is an avalanche of some of my all time favorites. I love the season!
"For one who has lived but a single lifetime, you are a wise man ...Van Helsing."
"I shall awaken memories of love and crime and death..."

Sean

Bram Stoker's Dracula (Love Never Dies).  Anthony Hopkins was fabulous.

The Creeper

Drag Me To Hell  (Unrated Directors Cut)

Pretty good movie, if you haven't seen it, you need too!
Long live the UMA!

I picked up "The Monster Squad" on DVD for $9. Hadn't seen it in many years. Not too bad, but it's no threat to "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein".

- Twins of Evil

- The Vampire Lovers

A double feature to finish up Hammer Horror week.

Twins is my favorite of the two due to a better story, the shades of blue and grey, the Collinson Twins, the evilness of this Count Karnstein and Peter Cushing's evil role.

VL has one of the best openings of any vampire movie with the blond vampire woman in the old graveyard. I also like the adaptation of "Carmilla", the shots of The Man in Black against a night background as well as Ingrid Pitt, but Twins wins between the two. Lust for a Vampire doesn't even compare in the series.
"For one who has lived but a single lifetime, you are a wise man ...Van Helsing."
