House of Frankenstein, in 16MM, shown at Cortland Hull's Witch's Dungeon in Connecticut. I plan to rewatch in 3D the Creature from the Black Lagoon, when I finish Tom Weaver's Creature Chronicles book.

Monsters For Sale

I've been watching light-hearted fantasy lately.  Just re-watched George Pal's "7 Faces of Dr. Lao".

First time I saw it we were going through an extended dry spell and personal conditions in my life had me feeling pretty down.  Saw the film without knowing anything about it.  It ends with the escaped Loch Ness monster is subdued by rain.

When I left the theater, it was raining hard.  I immediately felt much better.

Silly, I guess, but I've always liked this movie a lot after that.

The Wicker Man (1973)

I had never seen it before.  I'd seen the remake, and laughed at Nicolas Cage, as is that movies sole purpose.

It's a terrific movie.  The atmosphere is excellent, and the scenery only seems to get more beautiful the weirder things get.

Sweeney Todd (2007)

Just picked up the DVD for $5 at Big Lots. Haven't had the chance to watch it, yet.

Dead Silence (2007)~A decent ghost-mystery but the ending was rather silly; probably would have worked for a Tales From the Crypt but not for the ending of this film
