I only owned THE WOLF MAN, so I went with him.  The Dracula looks pretty cool, too, but for my 2nd choice, I picked Frank.

I think I might have shared this story on the forum once before, but since it specifically pertains to this subject I'll share it again briefly...

My father had the Creature one when he was a kid. His mom bought it for him and when they got home he immediately opened it up and set to work on it. He worked on it for quite a while and finally got it done. He was so excited when he finished it that he propped it up on his desk so he could look at it while he laid in bed that night. When he woke up the next morning, he found (to his horror) that the paints ran and dried like that over night and the whole thing was completely ruined! He never got another one and ever since then always wanted to re-do it. So for Christmas a few years back i decided it would be a cool Christmas gift to hunt one down for him so he could finally do one successfully. That quest is actually how I found this forum! I learned that it was an incredibly rare piece but some of you were awesome enough to share some photos of the packaging and the item itself. I used those photos and set to work in Photoshop retracing it and reconstructing a new one as close as I possibly could to the original! It actually worked out really well too! He flipped out when I gave it to him and he finally got to paint one and have it survive!

Wow! Too cool. Great story!

Why don't you take a picture of the piece your father finished and post it here for us to see?

I definitely will! Shortly after he finished it we moved from South Florida up to Charlotte, NC and it's in a stack of items that we haven't unpacked yet. We are going to be finishing out our basement soon as a big entertainment area and part of it will be a display for all of our toys and collectibles and he want's to put it in there, so to keep it protected it's still in the sleeve we packed it in to move, but as soon as I get it out I will DEFINITELY post pictures up of it!

Wolfman

Frank & Drac. Although it's tough to leave out the Creech.

Great story Creaturerevenge!

I'd have to go with Dracula or the Wolfman. Odd combo of Wolfman from A&C Meet Frankenstein, with Curse of the Werewolf clothes...again!

It's hard to pick just two 'cuz I like 'em all. The first three that were produced -Frankenstein, Dracula and Wolf Man seem to have a little more detail in the actual paint by numbers than the second set of three that came out. I've had Frankenstein, Draula and the Wolf Man since I was a kid. My older brother painted them and gave them to me back in the '60's and I still have them and they're some of my most prized possessions. I don't have the boxes for them, though.

Hard call. I voted for Creature and Wolfman, but Franky would be a close third.
ALWAYS MONSTERING...

Cool! And the longer you keep them, the more prized they'll become!

I'm surprised Dracula isn't doing better to me he is the one that looks the most well done.
It's all about the Horror.

I'm surprised that a total of only fifteen members have voted in a poll devoted to a Universal Monster item. I'd expect something like a hundred votes.

I went with Mummy and Dracula.Don't know why, I just like the looks of them.
Anyone know why the box illos and the actual paintings are so different in color ?

The art had to be dumbed-down so a kid could paint it, would be my guess.

BTW, if you notice, the Frank/Drac/Wolfman sets have more complex, better done box art based on movie stills. The Creature and Phantom are simplified versions of Bama's Aurora box art. The Mummy is just simple.
