Interesting.......is this the only time the kid garnered commands from "non human" instructors? Which mental illness is it that one of the symptoms is hearing "voices"? This will be an interesting case to observe. Without a doubt he will serve time in a mental ward, unless they think he made it up. Then, as it is in Texas, all bets are off.

I wonder how many people have "voices" tell them to do mundane things?
Image someone telling you they used a spirit board and a voice from beyond told them to do laundry, or compelled them to wash dishes.

I think that's called a conscience. Or if you're married ---a wife. In my case, it literally takes her nagging me to death, I mean reminding me, before I will do the laundry and other chores we must do to survive. >:D

The idea that if it's telling you to do BAD THINGS, that it might be a demonic spirit never occurred to him.  Good thing his "friend" didn't die, in Texas he could have become one of the dead spirits himself.  Texas is serious with it's death penalty.  Playing with the occult never turns out well.  His "friend' needs to find a new friend.

lol......even my kids tell her when she's nagging. But I still wanna keep her around. 19 years and counting....and counting...and counting. Just kidding. Good thing she doesnt read UMA. Might not make it to 20. But I digress.

Wasn't there someone who committed a murder after seeing Lon Chaney Sr.'s make up in London Afetr Midnight and tried to use it as a defense strategy at his trial? Seems I heard that someplace. People have been trying to blame their actions on things other than themselves for years. Some are genuinely mental ill....some are just trying to be crafty.

Same here.  Our 15th anniversary is in a week, and I'll make it if she doesn't see this thhread.  ;D

Ronald DeFeo Jr. claimed to have heard voices also, but was proclaimed sane and mentally fit to stand trial.  Everything from voices, God, and horror movies have been used as excuses for crimes.  Most are likely attempts to get lesser sentances, but some are probably people who really are messed up.  For my part, I beleive some few hearing voices really are being under demonic influences.

My Ouija board keeps telling me to wash my hands before dinner and brush my teeth before bed time.

Four out of five of the voices in my head tell me to kill. I ignore voice #5.
