I have added a new page to my website where I will be posting a photographic journal of the building of a model from start to finish. My subject is the "Mr. Sardonicus" model from Dimensional Designs. I will be updating as time and progress allows. You can see what I have finished here-

Cool, I love these step-by-step guides. Always get great tips from them. Used to be my favorite part of Fine-Scale Modeler magazine.

I agree...these step-by-step threads are a great way for novices like me to get tips from people who have been doing it much longer.

WOW.  This is GREAT.  This is the only way I would attempt to paint a sculpt.  I can't wait to see more.

No no...I'm not experienced at all with models. When I was a kid, I made all of the Aurora models-but they were all glue-bombs and most were painted with black-light poster paints....LOL.  I just started building and painting kits again in April of 2010...so I'm probably the LEAST experienced here. So the new "build a model" page isn't just a place to show what I've learned, but also a place where really good modelers can chime in and tell me when I'm blowing it.

Have some big updates on my monster model site concerning the "Build A Kit From Start to Finish" section. I have made some progress on the figure and you can see how I'm doing things here-

Take a look at the page that shows how I completed the base while your visiting!

UPDATE-

I've made some major updates to the "Build a kit from start to finish" sections of my website. The subject is the Mr. Sardonicus 1:6 scale figure model by Dimensional Designs.
The Base section has been complete for some time, and now the figure part of the model is complete, too. I have also started working on the head, and WIP pictures are posted there.
I'm always open to hear new (or old) ideas and things that I might be able to do better from you more experienced modelers!

The Base is here-

The Figure is here-

and the head WIP pics are here

Thanks!
