PS; I picked Phantom - Frankenstein wallet as I thought the Phantom artwork was the creepiest of the batch

I wouldn't say the new ones were actually close.

They made the SPP wallets look like fine Italian leather!

Yeah, those Ray Ferry FM wallets are pretty sucky. I have them, but I would like to get my hands on the real deal someday.
ALWAYS MONSTERING...

Agreed, don't like the new wallets very much. However, I do think the Ferry binder set of Frankenstein, Wolfman and the Phantom are gorgeous.

True enough , nothing beats the originals , there was something magical about monster toys and related items from the 50s-60s , they found the sweet spot between creepy and cool .

Curious what do the orig wallets go for nowadays?   I'm not speaking of crazy ebay auction prices or top dealer prices but avg cond items you may find in a local shop.   Reason I ask is last year  I saw a couple in a shop , don't recall which ones , they were either $75 or a little less each cond was ok avg .

Considering this was last year would that have been a good price , avg price , high price , no clue on value which is why I did not buy them

That would have been a good price! Ebay could have been 2-3 times that. Complete and in real nice cond. and a Creature one, maybe 6 times.

Thank you for letting me know, now I will give serious consideration to a purchase next time they pop up in my travels

Never seen a carded one for sale. Have no idea what those would go for!

My guess is that they would be really expensive with the orig card in it,

I had a Fireball xl5 wallet a while back mint condition with membership card and several crew photos (Steve , Venus , Prof , etc )  , was not too interested in it so sold it for $55 , my guess is that it sold cheaply as it was not as desirable.

I don't mean the membership cards. I meant the (super rare) hanging bubble card that (some of) the wallets came in.

Ah ... I did not know how these were packaged,  that must be cool and VERY expensive to find.

My guess  from what you told me of values if retail for a non carded nice one is 2-300 dollars (or more)  it would be double that if in orig package
(as packaging sometimes doubles the value of a loose toy depending of coarse on what it is)

Only a guess as I have no clue

This is the only one I've ever seen (in Kirk Hammett's book), so your guess is as good as mine, though I think 2X might be a little cheap.

My two favorite monsters are The Phantom and Frankenstein's monster so that wallet is an absolute win for me.
