Exactly as Sean said--you're gettin' the full treatment from HERE--karma, prayers, vibes and all.  But in your own bailliwick, take it slow and easy--one step at a time.  Take the pills, stay a little quiet, watch some good movies --some horror, some COMEDIES--and laugh whenever you can.  You didn't become ill overnight--so don't try to rush things and run marathons overnight, either!  We're here for you, and positive thoughts are headed in your direction hourly.

Yes, all good advice...follow your doctor's orders, rest, laughter and all other healthy diversions. Thanks for checking in WL, You know we're all pullin' for you here.  We already know your support system at home is grade A. Just give yourself the time you need to heal and try to r-e-l-a-x.

WL, do what the docs tell you. Meanwhile, a plethora of deities are being asked to intercede on your behalf. (EXCEPT CTHULHU. He's still being an ass over that $11 he claims you've owed him ever since you bet him he couldn't get Janet Jackson to pop her top during the halftime show at Super Bowl whatever.)

Best wishes and glad to see you've posted since it happened.  I hear the best medicine is UNIVERSAL.  A vampire can help leech the poisonous cholesterol out of your system.  Frankie can show you how to make yourself into a new man.  Wolfie can show you how to fight anything.

So sorry to hear this ....

My prayers are with you ...

May you swiftly fly up the stairs of recovery ...

Good to see your post, Mike.

As folks have said: listen to the Medicos, take it slow, and care for the machine.

Positive thoughts to you, Lester.  Rely on your family and friends and let go of your burden of worry.  Peace to you.

Glad to see you posting again!  Still praying for you Bro and listen to the doctors.  I know it sucks sometimes but we got to do what we have to.
Long live the UMA!

WL, just found this thread, man, the very best, positive thoughts are flying your way. Thank you so much for posting to let us know you're up and about.
Good news is you've gotten a little "wake up call". PLEASE listen to the doctors and take care of yourself.
Do you do Mindfulness Yoga? Relax the body, mind and spirit.
Kat, you take care of yourself as well - a big mental hug to you both.

Wicked Lester!  I hope you are doing better, my friend!   :)  We are all in this together, and ain't none of us getting any younger around here  :)
It sure was easier when we didn't have to be grown-ups! But you have a young soul and excellent taste in music- so keep thinking those positive thoughts and you'll make it through this....I gotta good feeling   :)

Hey everyone.
I was hoping to go back to work this week. Yea,right! :o The neurologist I had in the hospital totally sucked. No compassion non nonchalant this is what it is I'll be on my way now. I need a work release and my GP was not comfortable giving me one. So I called the neuro for a quick appt. and release. "sorry , can't get you in until the end of the month." WTF u6juu.! I have a job I need to get to. I am burning ALL my time off. I am bored by now watching old cop show DVDs 12 hours a day and my meds still make me tired. Kat works for another hospital and knows some people in power. Got hooked up with a Neuro from her place and I hope to be back to work by the 21st of the month. Even tho this was a minor stroke it is still messing with my head and I know I have lost my ability to be totally coherent all the time. I was not expecting anything like this for at least another 10-12 years.

What kind of job won't give you more time off for a stroke?

These days? Most of them.
The problem is the neuro is being a raging 'rhoid, and should have given him a work excuse form before discharging him from the hospital. I mean, seriously, what kinda quack tells you that you've got to wait a month before he'll sign the paper saying your head's too scrambled to go back to work right now?
