Probably. There are 5 or 6 popcorn buckets around, and I think 3 or 4 of the carded Palmers.  You know though, I had some Palmers as a kid, and was aware of the speaker (but I didn't have a car to put it in) and some of the other stuff, but the Marx figures and Jaymar puzzles, those were IMPORTANT to me, as were my blue Frankenstein and red Dracula Palmers. The rare stuff is cool stuff for sure, but the things that make me happiest are not the things that are the rarest.

I'm the opposite. For some reason everything i like is expensive as hell. At one time I thought I liked all monsters equal but then i realized the things that make me most excited was anything of a cool Frankenstein Monster. Makes me feel like a kid again every time.
It's all about the Horror.

I have vivid memories of me and my older brothers taking Monster Old Maid cards and flinging them across our living room trying to get them to land inside one of these monster buckets.  I believe my brother still has that bucket.  Not sure of the condition though.

That's another one.  Monster Old Maid cards...   I spent HOURS with those. Memorized every aspect of every picture on them.

I'm with you! The things that make me the happiest are the ones for which I have the most nostalgia, that being whatever I had as a kid or of which I was aware and wanted but never got. Aesthetics is my number two consideration.

That's actually why it was the Aurora monster model kits, Revell "Big Daddy" Roth kits and Hawk Weird-Oh model kits that drew me into collecting monster related items and certain other toys. Model kits were a big part of my life when I was a kid.

I just noticed the Roalex Frankenstein Sliding Squares Puzzle on the extreme right of your shelves. Those too are super cool! I used to like those puzzles as a kid.

Yep, I have that one, the Munsters and Addams Family on cards. Love those slide puzzles!

Great Graphics! And they used Henry Hull's image for the werewolf - you don't see that everyday, great find!

Those were movie theater buckets? Super art / design...Creepy J, I think I'd have to talk to my brother if he might have one of those, no matter the condition

Is item # 324120411938 on e-bay real or repro??

John Pertwee

I doubt it is real. The bottom has zero fading. The white is so crisp, and not even a bit dark where the wrapping doesn't cover.

Hi John.   Thanks for the reply.  Not that I'm going to buy it (very expensive),  but there was another on e-bay that looked a bit different from this particular one, which is loose.  I found this old thread to see if there was any more info on it with trying to tell the repro from the original.  If you look at both pieces on e-bay,  the one that is sealed in the box just has an overall different look to it as opposed to the one that is loose being sold.  The loose one in the description says original from the 60's,  while the sealed one just says condition is "new",  kind of makes me wonder??!!

The guy selling the FBB says it weighs a little over a pound. Anybody have an original they can weigh?

Those are blow-mold, right? That stuff is usually pretty light. On the other hand, those known repros are resin, which is pretty heavy.

Hi Mike.  Yes, from what was said on this thread in the other pages, the original is pretty light weight, while resin tends to be heavier which makes sense.  I fully realize this may open up another "can of worms" for me,  but,  I've been blasted before by collectors here and elsewhere about my thoughts on repro stuff.  I fully understand that it really does fill a need for the collector to purchase a rarity repro to at least have something as opposed to the real thing for their collection, but,  here just might be a prime example of something going very wrong if one of these is really indeed a repro.  These items should be marked as such,  nuff said.  The Frankenstein buckets are kind of easy to tell,  but,  you get one of these repro bike buddies, same color, then do a bang up job on reproducing the box, then sealing it yet,  you've got trouble with a not-so-savy collector or maybe even the seller not fully realizing it's a fake or worse the seller knows and just tries to pass it off.  The other thing is I know e-bay backs up purchases if something like this happens (at least hopefully they still do),  but it might be a long, long time before it's found out, usually when the item is trying to be possibly re-sold in the future, a lot of time might pass by, and because of this, a return might not be honored anymore.

OK, just saw this now under Frankenstein listings on e-bay,  another example as above, but not quite as bad.  Someone is selling the Esco Frankenstein statue, which,  in the description,  it does say original,  but,  I don't think it says anything about the paint job that is clearly not original,  actually looks pretty bad in my opinion,  and his opening bid or asking price is pretty steep. He does a good job with the wording about "vintage",  but nothing about the paint not being. #154277176887
