A month or so ago a friend of ours ended up in the hospital due to a freak burning accident. We responded to her e-mail thru Yahoo and received a MAILER DAEMON/undeliverable e-mail. Well even tho I have high security/ a great fire wall and run on stealth something still got thru and now I have "supposedly" been sending out bogus e-mails by the truck load. AOL wasn't much help. I changed my password twice but still have a lot of people pissed off at me for something I did not do. SOO , if anyone gets an e-mail from me and know a couple of you have and were like WTF , it ain't me. If I want to contact any of you it will be thru PM or on the board.
I hope this last attempt tonite will fix it finally.

That really bites WL, hope this gets corrected for you soon.  You'ld think people would have better things to do than immature crap like this.  I also use Yahoo for all my e-mails, so thanks for the warning.    :(

I was wondering why you were trying to get me to buy Mexican Viagra.

Seriously , did you get one? Because essentially that is what most of them were.
Now I have a few people that even tho they know the situation refuse to respond to my REAL e-mails.

I spent 90 minutes with some dumb ass that sounded like a mom from an 80's sitcom reading off a script a could not answer even 1 technical/security question. Passwords and security questions changed and so far so good but... we shall see. Just can't figure how this happened with all the security locks I have.

FACTO2

I doubt it was a case of someone hacking into your personal account.  There are viruses out there that get onto someone's computer and get into their Outlook address book.  Then, spam emails are sent out using whatever email addresses were found on the infected computer's address book.  It looks like the email came from you but it really came from another computer.  Odds are, someone you know who had your email in their address book got the virus.  Sadly, there's almost nothing you can do about this.   All you can do is tell your friends they need better virus protection.

So you prefer the days of civil rights riots, anti-war riots, daily Vietnam War death tolls, and assassinations?

Also there was no internet . . . .Oh, I think I see your point.

Here is the security I have set up. First with my AO-hell they are "supposed" to scan all incoming e-mail. For the net I run Zone Alarm Pro and have it set at stealth mode. I have auto updates and an auto weekly run for any viruses. I also have Malwarebytes which I run every so often. Neither one of them found anything that was above a low level pest. The e-mails look like they did come from me because when I look at my out box/sent mail there were over 70 of them in 2 days.
AOL security question and password changes are working so far. If this thing kicks in again I may just drop AOL all together and get a different e-mail account.

FACTO2

Hmmm.  If you're actually seeing the spam emails in your out box, yeah, you're right, your account must have gotten hacked.  That really does suck.  That doesn't sound like a virus at all.  It means someone figured out your password and knew your user name and was then able to sign onto AOL pretending to be you.  As long as the pass word change is working, you're probably okay, as long as whoever was doing this can't figure out your new password.  Really sorry that happened to you.  What a pain in the butt.

All that you say is true,All that DID happen,AND more I'm sure, But as a kid  I don't remember  my mother worrying  if some pervert was going to pull me into a car and mutalate me, I don't remember a curfew on Halloween, or morons sticking razors in our candy, Kids didn't go to their schools and pull out automatic weapons shooting everyone in site, where I lived girls did'nt get pregnant at 12,13,or even 17. And it's ODD,but there wasn't a drug problem among kid's when I was young. I could go on and on, But Whats the point? ALL generations have problems, All I'm trying to say is growing up in the 60s was a wonderful thing. >:D

Maybe very important ones.
