Just won the Gogos Phantom & Bama Frankenstein posters to go with my previous Gogos Creature win!!  Anyway I was also keeping an eye out on these POST poster auctions:

Do these posters often turn up unfolded?  I would think that it would be a rare find indeed.  Someone would have had to work for APC or POST (or know someone that did) in order to get them unfolded wouldn't you think?  At first I thought they were prints but they do glow in the dark and I don't know how easy that would be to fake.  I thought it was odd that there was no mention of these being POST cereal premiums in the listing, I assumed everyone knew that and every listing I've ever seen always makes a point to state that info.  These unfolded posters also didn't fetch any higher a price than I've seen the folded ones go for.

I have this set also unfolded.  I got them off Ebay several years back for a very good price.  I'm guessing the unfolded ones were possibly a warehouse find.  They do glow nicely.  The Wolfman one isn't as nice, but "oh well".  I got my Creature one signed by Ricou and Ben and I treasure it dearly.

I've never seen the Wolfman, do you know of any pics online?  Or can you provide?  I read a description that mentioned a generic Wolfman poster so I checked the gallery here and didn't see it.

If you look in the bottom right cornerr of this photo, you can see the Wolfman one.  It's the same image as the cylinder and boxed puzzles.

There was a warehouse find of the unfolded ones.  Actually, folded ones from the cereal are much rarer (not that I've ever heard of anyone preferring a folded one though).  They were fairly common for a while and have become harder to find in the past few years.  The Frankenstein, Phantom, and Creature are Gogos are, while the Wolf Man one is not.  There are only 4 in the set.

Anybody know if the Wolfman art appeared anywhere (as did the other 3) before the puzzles/posters? I wonder why they didn't just pick another FM cover for that one?

I have an nice Monster Memory of the Wolfman Puzzle. One Friday evening, My Dad was working a football game. Around 5 Mom said, Lets go get something to eat and go to the Mall. We didn't have much money when we were growing up. Eating out usually meant Jack in the Box. Back in the early 70s it was the best cheapest burgers. Tonight she said lets splurge. We went to my favorite Burger Place, Burger Chef. The first Create your Burger Bar, in SA. The burgers were the best. WE went to the Toy Box in MC Release Mall, right afterwards. She asked if I wanted any thing. The Saliva was running down my Fangs. Not only did I get the Wolfman Puzzle but I also go the Planet of the Apes Cornelius Parachute. I got home and was playing with the parachute in the dark. The Puzzle came next. I might have watched Night Stalker , but for sure I watched Our local Monster Movie show, Project terror. Friday night were Great back then. HHW

Oh it's the same as the APC puzzle, that may be why I overlooked it in the gallery.

What an odd choice, it really doesn't fit in with the other ones!?!?  Why wouldn't they just use the other puzzle images since they used the Wolfman image.

I wonder if they tried to acquire the cover image of FM 12 or 99 and couldn't get the rights for whatever reason.  Could it be that they thought 3 posters just wasn't a good number and were shooting for 4, which they didn't have 4 to choose from with the puzzle images?  And maybe their budget couldn't handle 4 FM cover images?  Oh well, no one will ever know the reasons, just another monster mystery.

Hard to say why they went with that art, but we are talking cereal premium here...   they weren't selling sets of them, they were selling cereal and using them to get monster kids to buy that brand.  Most of the time it was not possible to collect an entire series of a premium, and kids didn't even think that way so much back then.  They might have wanted all of them, but getting one or two was about the high end of expectation.  As you say, we'll probably never know why it happened like that.

He's standing in front of the UMA Monster Toy Museum Display at Wonderfest.  The items in those pictures belong to several UMA members who loaned them to the exhibit.

Well, the toys are in established collections and I doubt the items are for sale.  If you are looking for stuff, post a want list in the classifieds section.  Everyone who owns those toys reads it.
