I would say that syfy and Asylum Films are establishing themselves as the modern day Roger Corman.  Jaws/Piranha, Forbidden Planet/Forbidden World , Snakes on A Plane/Snakes on a Train.  On top of the movies made to capitalize on others popularity, they mass produce movies Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus and Mega Piranha, much like Corman's stand alone films.

I would say syfy and asylum are following in legendary footsteps and are doing a wonderfully craptastic job.

Nah, these things are nothing like Corman's films. Corman was witty and inventive, though hampered by time and budget constraints. There's nothing witty or inventive about this Sigh-Fi dreck. While these may be analogous in terms of low budget and "quickie" sensibility, there's nothing about them that hints at replicating the enduring nature of Corman's offerings.

I very much doubt that anyone will be poring over the stuff coming out of Sigh-Fi in 50 years, but Corman will still be a legend.
We're all here because we're not all there.
