Going to catch the local premiere of Christopher Mihm's '50s-style retro sci-fi spoof "Cave Women on Mars" at the lovely Heights Theater tonight.  Mihm, a Twin CIties film maker, has done several of these types of films, but I've yet to see any of them.  Will report back after seeing it.  Check out: http://www.shadowcreekstudios.com/films.jsp

Anyhow -- this got me thinking about Larry Blamire's "Lost Skeleton of Cadavra," so I checked in at the LSoC Yahoo group to see that the sequel is in production -- and there are some location photos posted showing some VERY familiar faces:

Take a look and you'll see some UMA members and friends....

So what I want to know now is, did Blamire's "Trail of the Screaming Forehead" ever get released...?

OK -- didn't have time to post last night -- but here are my thoughts on "Cave Women..."  The showing was packed, with friends and family of those involved with making the film -- as well as local film fanatics.  In glorious B&W and running about 90 minutes, "Cave Women..." was a fun and likable tribute to '50s sci-fi flicks.  I wouldn't say it was as sharp as "Lost Skeleton..."  but it's creator's love for the genre was quite evident.  There were lots of laughs and appealing characters.  Lead actor was pretty much a burlier version of Bruce Campbell (really a VERY similar type) -- and one of the evil cave women reminded me a great deal of Brinke Stevens. Anyhow -- it was a fun evening at the movies.  I think most any fan of '50s space flicks would get a kick out of it ,  and enjoy watching it on DVD (which is how most people will see it).  Check out the preview and see for yourself:

Thanks for the head's up.  I'll see it if I get the chance.  Sounds a might better (or at least more fun) than 10,000 BC.
