I curse all the kids who didn't save their boxes in mint condition!  ;D

I suppose they were national.

A hard candy, I'm sure, looking at the original wrapper. I've heard the toys weren't monster toys. Probably not much better than a CrackerJack toy.

Poked around a little on the interwebbings for Phoenix Candy Monster Boxes:

Most of the entries are from UMA. Still never found any mention of what toys were included.

Wow! I want to see what those 5 original boxes on Heritage sell for!

The eBay boxes (your photo) are the UMA repros.

Yeah, the Heritage auction is interesting. I just grabbed the repros pic off of the eBay auction just to show the boxes. They're not mine. I never did get around to making the repro boxes from the UMA copies.

I was just clarifying what I was referring to.  :)

Looks like one of the Creature Grave Walkers sold on eBay for $500 + $50 shipping + tax.

This is the original Rubie's large version, not the mini knockoff version. It has some condition issues, and I saw no mention of the original box. It was returned by two previous buyers, so we'll see if this sale sticks. There's another one on eBay for $1,200 BIN.

That's crazy! There should be plenty of those things around.

One would think. I guess Rubie's didn't make as many as some expect. Sure is a lot of those little knockoffs though.  ;D

The Cantankerous Collector

I think they originally retailed for around $90 then they sold out and were selling for $300 on ebay. I slept on them but they were released again for around $100 and I nabbed one. I have the vampire one too somewhere in storage.

I think they were $65, or $69. I remember being surprised at how inexpensive they were.

Also posting this here since it's a Creature figure.

Another Creature Grave Walker sold.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/306498832930

It was listed for $1,200 plus $32.84 shipping with Best Offer. eBay used to list Sold For prices with a slash through them if it sold for less. Either eBay changed that or someone gave the full $1,200+ (around $1,320 w/sh & tax). I can't imagine why someone wouldn't take advantage of the Make Offer option on this. Anywhere near $1,200 seems way overpriced to me. FMV even with the original box seems like it should only be around half that. Crazy eBay sales.

Wasn't that long ago you could get them for $100.

I haven't seen any offered for less than around $500 more recently, even with condition problems.

One reason we don't see as many of these offered nowadays may be because a lot of them fell from wall mounts and damaged them (and whatever they landed on?) pretty badly. I've heard of a few of these mishaps. I always just displayed mine on a flat surface. I wouldn't attempt to buy one these days at the prices they sell for.
